Katsuta tested with Toyota ahead of WRC Catalunya Rally 2021

Japanese rally star Takamoto Katsuta is Toyota's 4th driver and he is there just because he is Toyota's protegee and they want to have Japanese driver in the World Rally Championship.

It was all little bit funny until this season because there are some top drivers sitting on the bench and waiting for a works drive and some Japanese guy was driving a world Toyota Yaris WRC car.

But Katsuta showed the whole world that he can fight for a podium and on that he can score very consistent results rally after rally.

The problems became bad for him after his usual co-driver Daniel Barritt hurt his back on WRC Rally Estonia after one of their big jumps and after that Katsuta had to change the co-drivers and it is not an easy job to find a top co-driver who can help you to increase your pace.

From then Katsuta is having bad results with retirements but he is hoping for better until Barritt will come back into the right seat and help him progress further.

It is expected that Katsuta will stay with Toyota in 2022 and it is just a matter of time when they will confirm that to the public.
