Johnston to co-drive for Katsuta at WRC Rally Finland

Hi, friends!

Japanese rally rising star Takamoto Katsuta will have third co-driver in the last three rallies and after his usual co-driver Daniel Barritt was injured at WRC Rally Estonia after heavy landing on one of those big jumps, there is no luck for Katsuta with the guys in the right seat.

It's difficult to change a co-driver after you got used to the voice of someone. It's like you are listening the song in your ears with the helmet on your head when someone read you a note you two made them together on the recce.

That's why it's difficult to change a co-driver. After the first change, Keaton Williams sat into the right seat and they had a heavy shunt on the very first rally together at WRC Ypred Rally in Belgium. They had to miss the Acropolis Rally Greece after something wrong happened in his family so Williams had to return home that day.

Katsuta had to withdraw from that rally and that's more points lost but from the human side, it was the only option to make. I think that Katsuta has very positive human characteristics as a person.

The next WRC event is Rally Finland and Katsuta had to find a new co-driver and he found him in Aaron Johnston who co-drove for youngster Oliver Solberg until the last rally in Greece.

Maybe that was better option for Johnston in the short term view. He will have to prove himself until Dan Barritt will be ready to come back into the Katsuta's right seat.

Every opportunity in the World Rally Championship is worth and Johnston can only profit from another WRC experience in the top class of the sport.

Then he can look for another opportunity because he is from an English speaking area and that can only help.

Katsuta is very popular driver these days so we can only expect the next rally of this crew.
