Documentary rally video of the day - On the road again - Tour de Corse 1987

Today we go into the first year of Group A World Rally Championship which was introduced after some bad accidents from previous seasons when some top drivers lost their lives just because of the fragile Group B monsters which ruled the world of rallying in seasons before 1986.

Group A was actual for ten years, until season 1997 when WRC class was introduced but some teams, čike Mitsubishi used Group A until season 2001 and I must admit very successfully.

Season 1987 brought Lancia Delta HF Integrale, four wheel drive monster which melted everything in front of them in the following seasons. Bruno Saby was the number one seeded driver on that Rally Corsica, or Tour de Corse which was the actual name of the rally.

This documentary follows Ford WRC team from the days when they were not ran by M-Sport but as a full factory squad. M-Sport is just their tuner from season 1997.

Back in a days, they used an old Sierra Cosworth for their rallying operations (until season 1993 when Escort Cosworth was introduced).

Legendary Stuart Turner is also in the video as their team boss but this guy was firstly known as a Mini Team rally boss. Anyway this piece of history is worth of time for every rally fan around.
