Blast from the past - WRC Tour de Corse 1995
Hi, friends!
Did you know that Rally Corsica (or Tour de Corse) was called Rally of 1000 corners?! Yeah, some special stages were noted on 50 or more pages and that's something to read for a co-drivers.
But that event was really legendary. I don't know the real reason for not being on World Rally Championship calendar anymore. Maybe that's because France has Monte Carlo Rallye also being held almost completely on their soil because only the start and finish are in Monaco and all the special stages are in the French Alps.
Season 1995 is still season of Group A cars and that's two years before introducing of WRC cars (they were introduced in 1997). There were some legendary rally drivers like Colin McRae, Juha Kankkunen, Didier Auriol, Carlos Sainz sr, all the World Rally champions from the past.
There was much more of them but take a look at the video and learn about history of rallying. Please enjoy in this video because it something like a school... :)
