Good day, Splinterlands! For this post, I would like to share one of my battles featuring Riftwing and his epic battle to defeat several foes while standing strong untill the end of battle. If this peaks your interest, let's take a look at it.

First, here is a quick rundown of Riftwing's skill, stats, and lore.

Riftwing
Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: COMMON
Element: DEATH
Attack: NO ATTACK
Abilities: FLYING, SCAVENGER, BACKFIRE, HEADWINDS

Lore

Riftwings are drawn to splinters and rifts. They feed off their energy and grow larger the closer they live to a portal. The Chaos Legion uses them as a means to locate rifts. In war, they are utilized as scouts, providing valuable information and as a way to harass/distract enemy forces, thereby slowing them down.

The sky over the battlefield was suddenly filled with an onslaught of arrows. Armored archers fired all at once, aiming for the creatures in the sky. The Riftwings of the Chaos Legion.

But as the arrows neared their targets, the Riftwings flapped their wings rapidly. A surge of wind kicked up, sending the arrows wide. Several of the weapons spun out of control, impaling the archers on the ground. Killed by their own attacks.

The screams began as the Riftwings dove down, following the path of the arrows. Descending on the corpses, it was a feast of blood and flesh.

Battle Configuration

The Modern Format ruleset for this fight is Holy Protection and Reverse Speed. The maximum amount of mana allowed is 14 only giving each side a limited set of monsters to use. The available elements are Fire, Dragon, Death and Life. In this battle, I used Waka Spiritblade as my summoner to grant each allied monster the ability to inflict poison to the enemy monster. I also used Moxian Rebel leveraging its Weapons Training ability to give Riftwing a +1 Magic Attack. On the other hand, the enemy used a Lvl 5 Cursed Windeku that has the Heal Ability.

The battle started by applying buffs and de-buffs on both sides. In Round 1, even though Cursed Windeku still has the Holy Protection ability, it did not hinder the poison to be inflicted to it after Moxian Rebel landed a hit. My Corpse Fiend was also defeated at this round, giving Riftwing a +1 HP.

By the end of Round 2, my Willy Coyotian was also killed, feeding Riftwing again. And even though Cursed Windeku was poisoined, the damage was being offset by its Heal ability.

By the end of Round 3, only Moxian Rebel and Riftwing were left on my side. This may look a miserable defeat for me.

By the end of Round 4, only Riftwing was left on my side while the enemy still has Cursed Windeku, Wierding Warrior, Xenith Archer and Corpse Fiend.

Even though I only have Riftwing, it has 5 Speed together with its Flying Ability made the enemy attacks missed a lot causing Backfire to inflict damage to them. Not to mention that at this battle, it also has the ability to inflict poison and feed on them when the enemy die. So in the end I managed to win this battle even though Riftwing was outnumbered.
