Estamos en el mes rosa, para los que no saben su significado, en el mundo este mes le dedicamos un poquito de nuestro tiempo a difundir testimonios para impulsar el apoyo de las grandes empresas en las campañas informativas sobre el cáncer de mama que es muy frecuente en las mujeres a nivel mundial,me entristece el tema porque particularmente en mi país Venezuela esta es la primera causa de muerte por cáncer en las mujeres y hay centros repletos de mujeres padeciendo la enfermedad aquí no cuenta el estatus social, si fuiste muy buena o muy mala, grandes artistas han padecido estás enfermedades de momento recuerdo a las venezolanas actrices Carmen Alicia Lara y Tania Sanabria, así que hoy les hablaré sobre mi caso y mi experiencia (no tuve cáncer y le doy gracias a Dios).

Desde hace muchos años yo tenía como un dolor extraño en un seno el izquierdo yo estaba joven, entrenaba, hacía mucho deporte, pero no podía hacer nada con la mano izquierda porque enseguida tenía una pesadez en el seno izquierdo, yo sentía un bulto que se movía podía tocarlo porque cuando estaba inflamado se sentía más, estuve dando clases de bailo terapia en una comunidad y ya notaba que no podía brincar porque eso me molestaba, así que nunca tuve tanto interés, pero en el 2015 entro a la nómina como personal fijo y podía gozar del beneficio de las clínicas así que en un mes de octubre del 2015 voy a llevar mis documentos y estaban haciendo un despistaje de varias cosas y mientras espero mi turno para entregar documentos escucho hablar a dos mujeres mayores.

For many years I had a strange pain in my left breast, I was young, I trained, I did a lot of sports, but I could not do anything with my left hand because I immediately had a heaviness in my left breast, I felt a lump that moved, I could touch it because when it was inflamed I felt it more, I was giving dance therapy classes in a community and I noticed that I could not jump because it bothered me, So I never had so much interest, but in 2015 I entered the payroll as permanent staff and I could enjoy the benefit of the clinics, so in October 2015 I go to take my documents and they were doing a screening of several things and while I was waiting my turn to deliver documents I heard two older women talking.

Yo estaba sentada esperando igual que ellas, lo que me permitió escuchar su conversación, una le comentaba a la otra que había sido suspendida del trabajo debido a que tenia una masa en el seno y se fue a chequear y resulto que tenia cáncer, yo solo escuché eso y me aterre, se me salieron las lágrimas, entrego mis papeles y la muchacha me dice con ese carnet de empleadas puedes hacerte los exámenes gratuitos.

I was sitting there waiting just like them, which allowed me to listen to their conversation, one told the other that she had been suspended from work because she had a mass in her breast and she went for a check up and it turned out that she had cancer, I just heard that and I was terrified, tears came to my eyes, I handed in my papers and the girl told me that with that employee card you can get free exams.

Así que yo pido ticket y espero mi turno, el doctor me pregunta muchas cosas yo le digo que siento un bulto en mi seno izquierdo desde hace varios años que no se porqué antes no fui al médico ,quizás porque no tenía para hacerme ese chequeo así que le dije que estaba preocupada el me dijo que me cambiara la blusa y luego me coloque una bata azul me acostó en la camilla y me hizo levantar el brazo hacia arriba, hacía un lado, luego me senté y de igual manera fue explorando por la axila , los alrededores del pezón.

Si efectivamente tenía un bulto cerca del pezón izquierdo y el lo podía palpar sin examen, el medico me dio una orden para realizarme una mamografía y me dio de una vez la cita para mastología, para poder darme diagnostico de lo que tenia allí.

Primeramente uno conoce su cuerpo, es necesario tocarse y amarse para saber si tenemos algo diferente, pero la mamografía es un método eficiente a la hora de dar un diagnóstico, es proceso muy rápido que debería de realizarse una vez al año y con ella han logrado dar resultados ante una población preocupada, por lo general lo hacen después de los 35, yo tenía 25 cuando me hice la primera y fue un gran susto, porque yo era muy joven y uno de esos casos que requerían el examen antes de la edad establecida, entre radiólogo, mastólogo y médicos especialistas que además son excelentes en su trato y trabajo yo me sentí muy deprimida yo sentía molestia, pensaba "si me tenían que operar", existía la posibilidad de cáncer con mi corta edad, esta pregunta siempre me aterraba, muchas cosas pensé y mucho me dolió, pero en la mamografía el radiólogo me dijo no es nada grave, ni lo que venías pensando, eso me dio un alivio igual tenía que ir al mastologo.

Es importante nombrar que hay otro tipo de exámenes como ultrasonido, eco mamario, también resonancia magnética por eso cuando los exámenes se practican a tiempo puedes marcar una gran diferencia en tu vida, aún no se sabe con exactitud cuáles son las verdaderas causas del cáncer de mamá, pero si hay una detección temprana, se puede luchar.

It is important to mention that there are other types of tests such as ultrasound, breast ultrasound, and MRI, so when the tests are performed on time you can make a big difference in your life. It is not yet known exactly what the true causes of breast cancer are, but if there is early detection, you can fight it.

A mi me detectan que el tejido mamario está un poco duro, un bulto blando, sin líquido afortunadamente nada grave era un pequeño quiste, unas veces lo siento más que otras, ahora que doy pecho si tengo como más sensibilidad en ese seno, pero siempre me tocó y cada vez que puedo voy al mastologo, por eso recomiendo que si en algún momento sientes algo anormal en tus senos te hagas un chequeo nunca está demás, no debemos esperar que sea tarde.

I was detected that the breast tissue is a little hard, a soft lump, without liquid, fortunately nothing serious, it was a small cyst, sometimes I feel it more than others, now that I breastfeed I have more sensitivity in that breast, but it always touched me and every time I can I go to the mastologist, so I recommend that if at any time you feel something abnormal in your breasts you get a checkup, it is never too much, we should not wait until it is too late.
