Winter preparations

Hi Ladies,
this is my first post in this community and I think it is the most appropriate place for its topic - winter preparations and how do you deal with cold winter temperatures.
Weather at the moment is not quite normal for the month of December and thank God it is not as cold as it is usually at this time of year. So, winter this year has given me some advance in time to prepare for it.
And I prepared in a very unusual way for me.🙂...
What I mean? Last week I went to the town market nearby to buy the last clothes for this winter.
And there I bought something I have never bought before:

These clothes are called knitted tank tops and serve as underwear.

I don't know if you've ever seen such clothes or used them in your own countries, but I personally have known them for a long time. Since I was a kid.

And to be honest, I never thought I would ever buy something like this.😄
First, because they've always been sold on clothing stands for older women - you know, the ones who are constantly cold.
And secondly, how I will put on my skin underwear that is knitted - somehow it seemed unnatural to me.

But it turns out that this is not the case.
They are 100% acrylic or 100% cotton. The acrylic fabric is softer and more comfortable for the skin. But in fact, both fabrics turned out to be very pleasant to wear and do not feel strange or unnatural on the skin of the body.

And warm like a stove. Both on the chest and on the back. In addition, they are quite long and protect the waist well.
So, they can still be worn as clothes for older women, but they do a wonderful job for me. 🙂

There is something else I bought for the winter. And these are camel wool socks (can you imagine that? I didn't know there is such thing as camels wool.)

And they also turned out to be quite pleasant to wear - they are very soft. And you see what it says - that they are designed even for a temperature of -30 degrees Celsius.

Well, I already have another pair of these socks. And they are actually not the best quality. But they are very cheap and really warm. That's why I decided to buy this extra pair.

So, these are my preparations for winter.
I actually forgot to tell that I can't stand cold (which is obvious), my skin is very delicate and sensitive. My body too. And I also have something like cold allergy and many other ailments in various forms caused by the cold.

How do you deal with cold weather?

First of all, welcome to your first post on Ladies of Hive. Hope to see more of your posts here!
I hate cold weather and I live in an area that gets really cold from December thru February and often has ice and snow. This December has been pretty mild so far though, which is nice. It even got so warm yesterday that there were thunderstorms and tornados in the area.
Those knitted tank tops look like just the perfect thing for a warm undergarment. I wish I had those back in the days when I was a mail carrier and spent five hours a day walking in the cold and delivering mail!
I've never heard of camel wool socks either, nor ever seen any of sale here, but they look very warm and comfy!

Thank you for your kind words, @blueeyes8960!
The reason I wrote this post here was not only to share this personal experience of mine, but also to share information. Because these two products that I show are extremely cheap in my country. And at the same time - very effective. We all know about expensive thermal underwear. Or about expensive hiking socks. Last year I bought some expensive socks, which turned out to be at the same level of quality as those here, but much more expensive. So, we can always find some much simpler solutions and at much more affordable prices.

Hello @soulsdetour. Welcome to Ladies of Hive and for deciding to join and publish in this Community. A timely topic for your post. I too hate cold weather and have cold illnesses. With Diabetes, my body, especially my feet are always cold. I wear thermals mostly through the year. But during winter, they are my daily wear. Protecting my feet is the most important concern with having Type 2 Diabetes. I normally wear 2 pair of socks.

Thanks for sharing your winter wear. Have a good rest of your week. Take care.
