The hunters and the bush

Today the bush covered with Rhagonycha fulva beetles I have shown you some days ago, is wrapped in a web.

Not exactly like this one here, but similar to it.

It's maybe because of these same insects.

The flowers of the evergreen shrub have already withered and no longer attract pollinators or animals that feed on them.

IMG_20220625_171516~2.jpg

But by the time they bloomed, they were overcrowded, as I've shown you. And not only by these beetles, but also by other animals.

So you can imagine what a hunting ground this bush was at the same time for my friends, the spiders. 😁

My smile is actually self-irony, since I am the least amused by such natural performances, but we still have to accept, however much we don't like it, that our planet is set up this way - there will always be hunters, there will always be a prey.

But let me continue in another direction.
I have already told you that nature changes every year and every year is different, bringing with it different harvest, as well as completely different insects and their natural enemies.

My phone camera had a hard time zooming here, trying to capture the spider behind (can you spot it? 😃)

IMG_20220615_165939~2.jpg

So, the first year I came to this house, there were many wasp spiders in the garden (and many wasps too 😁)
But this was actually the only year I saw wasp spiders there (and they were the best models for my DSLR camera then, because they don't move, don't run or jump away immediately, the moment they sense your presence, as the ones I'm showing you today are doing.

IMG_20220615_170045~2.jpg

And this year, the whole garden is wrapped in these cobwebs I'm showing you, along the other usual ones.

IMG_20220615_165821~2.jpg

But you already know my attitude and understanding on this matter. For there to be so many spiders of this species in the garden, it means that there is a reason for it.

IMG_20220619_190619~2.jpg

It means that there are enough of these types of insects that spiders feed on.

IMG_20220619_190614~2.jpg

And this also means that the garden itself needs them.

IMG_20220620_183127~2.jpg

That's why I would in no case go after them, destroy the cobwebs built by them with so much effort, or anything else.

IMG_20220622_175454~2.jpg

I just leave them to do their work in peace.
