Hace buen rato no paso por aquí, pero no quería esperar mas comentarles sobre mi último “paseo turístico” y lo pongo entre comillas porque aunque he estado viviendo de forma intermitente en esta ciudad y he visitado su Casco Histórico, con sus calles antiguas, coloridas casas, estatuas emblemáticas y su popular malecón, la verdad es que no me había tomado el tiempo de en “modo de “turista” y es por esto que me tomé una tarde para meterme en el papel y tomar algunas fotos.

It's been a while since I've been here, but I didn't want to wait any longer to tell you about my last "tourist walk" and I put it in quotes because although I've been living intermittently in this city and I've visited its Historical Center, with its old streets, colorful houses, emblematic statues and its popular boardwalk, the truth is that I hadn't taken the time to go into "tourist mode" and that's why I took an afternoon to get into the paper and take some pictures.

Lo primero que les quiero mostrar (y es algo a lo que suelo prestarle atención cuando visito alguna ciudad de mi país) es la plaza Bolívar, ésta en particular siempre me ha parecido peculiar pues no tiene los comunes banquitos que suelen estar en la mayoría de las plazas (puede que no haya visitado tantas como para saberlo) Aquí, como es común en la mayoría de las plazas del país, nunca he visto personas agrupándose, quizá es un pasado ocurría (cuando estaba más arborizada)
The first thing I want to show you (and it is something I usually pay attention to when I visit a city in my country) is the Bolivar square, this one in particular has always seemed peculiar to me because it does not have the common benches that are usually in most of the squares (maybe I have not visited so many to know it) Here, as it is common in most of the squares of the country, I have never seen people grouped together, maybe it is a past occurrence (when it was more wooded).
En una de sus esquinas se encuentra esta escultura, siempre me ha llamado la atención, intenté buscar información acerca de ella, pero no conseguí nada.
In one of its corners is this sculpture, it has always caught my attention, I tried to look for information about it, but I got nothing.
Just in front we find what would be the mayor's office of the municipality. At the back is the Cathedral of San Jose, I really like its shape and structure, it is made of stone which gives it a touch between rustic, handmade and colonial.

En paralelo a la alcaldía nos encontramos con la calle Bolívar. Algunas de sus pintorescas casas están ocupadas por habitantes de la ciudad, otras por instituciones públicas e incluso privadas, locales, bodegas...
Parallel to the mayor's office we find Bolivar Street. Some of its picturesque houses are occupied by inhabitants of the city, others by public and even private institutions, shops, warehouses...
En una de estas casas encontré a este amiguito, con quien intercambié miradas.
In one of these houses I met this little friend, with whom I exchanged glances.
Un misterioso callejon/ A mysterious alley.
Al final de la Calle se encuentra la iglesia del Rosario, seguidamente una callecita nos lleva hasta hasta un restaurante de pizzas para finalmente salir y encontrarnos con la Casa Guipuzcoana y el Obelisco del Águila.
At the end of the street is the church of the Rosary, then a small street leads us to a pizza restaurant to finally get out and find the Casa Guipuzcoana and the Eagle Obelisk.

Casa Guipuzcoana
Para poner un poco en contexto a quien me lea y no sea de Venezuela, la Casa Guipuzcoana es un monumento histórico de la Nación y fue construida aproximadamente en 1974 para facilitar el comercio con la Capitanía General de Venezuela, pues desde entonces hasta hoy en dia Puerto Cabello uno de los dos más importantes puertos de la historia y economía del país. Recuerdo que en el bachillerato hice una exposición acerca de esta casa la cual, tuvo varios usos después de su construcción y en la actualidad hasta donde funciona como una biblioteca pública.
To put a little context for those who read me and are not from Venezuela, the Casa Guipuzcoana is a historical monument of the Nation and was built approximately in 1974 to facilitate trade with the Captaincy General of Venezuela, since then until today Puerto Cabello is one of the two most important ports in the history and economy of the country. I remember that in high school I made an exhibition about this house which had several uses after its construction and nowadays it is still used as a public library.

Desde allí me moví hasta el malecón para darle una vista al mar y a las plazas. Un niño me preguntó si le podía tomar una foto y yo encantada accedí.📸
From there I moved to the boardwalk to get a view of the sea and the plazas. A boy asked me if I could take his picture and I gladly agreed.📸

La pequeña edificación que logra verse en la montaña es el Fortín Solano/ The small building that can be seen on the mountain is the Fortín Solano
Es posible también observar el Castillo San Felipe la cual es otra estructura de importantísimo valor Histórico para el país, también es llamada el Castillo del Libertador, tenía como objetivo resguardar el Puerto y por ende toda la mercancía que llegaba. 🏰
It is also possible to observe the San Felipe Castle which is another structure of very important historical value for the country, it is also called the Liberator's Castle, its objective was to protect the Port and therefore all the merchandise that arrived. 🏰
Por otro lado y mientras tomaba un descanso desde la plaza que se encuentra del otro lado del Malecón, logré ver a un señor que estaba vendiendo cepillados. Un cepillado o “raspado” en Venezuela es un refresco hecho a base de hielo “raspado "a través de una maquinita, al cual se le incorpora jarabe de varios sabores y leche condensada, esto es una bebida tradicional en el país desde hace muchísimos años y también una forma super rápida y deliciosa de refrescarse.
On the other hand, while taking a break from the square on the other side of the Malecón, I saw a man selling "cepillados". A "cepillado" or "raspado" in Venezuela is a soft drink made from ice "rasped" through a machine, to which is added syrup of various flavors and condensed milk, this is a traditional drink in the country for many years and also a super fast and delicious way to cool off.
Frente al malecón se encuentran varios restaurantes los cuales han mantenido las fachadas de las casonas y no solo esto, sino que también encuentras varios hoteles los cuales en su mayoría cuentan con una increíble vista al mar.
In front of the boardwalk there are several restaurants which have maintained the facades of the mansions and not only this, but also find several hotels which mostly have an incredible ocean view.
Casi olvido mencionar la Calle los Lanceros, en esta calle encontramos casas de gran altura, con balcones largos y de colores brillantes. También una de las más concurridas por los turistas.
I almost forgot to mention the Calle los Lanceros, in this street we find houses of great height, with long balconies and bright colors. Also one of the most crowded by tourists.
De aquí me llamó particularmente la atención este puentecito que comunica dos casas, supongo que en el pasado. Actualmente es solo un adorno.
From here I was particularly struck by this little bridge that connects two houses, I guess in the past. Nowadays it is just an ornament.
Un restaurante muy agradable al final de la calle/A very pleasant restaurant at the end of the street
