Solo’s weekly picks: Gardens

avatar

Growing season is the time we can go outside every few days and see all new growth, flowers and fruit forming on plants near by. This week I found some posts by Hive plankton and minnows showing off what they grew. We will see some tomatoes, peppers, green beans, garlic and some seedlings being grown.

Here are five Hive plankton and minnows showing off their gardening posts:

Selling sword pepper, tomatoes and eggplant fresh from our garden by @bigeyes2012

https://peakd.com/hive-140635/@bigeyes2012/selling-sword-pepper-tomatoes-and

Starting seeds a few months back, they are now producing fruit from their plants. With some tomato plants, egg plant and peppers they had so much they had to sell the rest.

Growing Pepper Plants by @munos

https://peakd.com/hive-140635/@munos/growing-pepper-plants

Growing black pepper is something I wanted to always to try, so its great to see this farmer growing them. Hopefully they will make for some great seasoning when ripe.

Garden Update: Recycling Some Soil and Replanting Cherry Tomatoes and Mustard Greens Seedlings + Progress ... <3 by @tegoshei

https://peakd.com/hive-150280/@tegoshei/garden-update-recycling-some-soil-and-replanting-cherry-tomatoes-and-mustard-greens-seedlings--progress--3

Using recycled materials for growing is a great way to reuse. And some seedlings are coming along quite nicely inside. They found some worms too so thats great for the soil. I am sure soon those plants will grow into something strong.

Harvest green beans from my vegetable garden by @ricstar85

https://peakd.com/hive-150280/@ricstar85/harvest-green-beans-from-my-vegetable-garden

Growing their own beans they get so many they will last the rest of the year. Three bags have already been produced and many more on the way.

Growing and caring for garlic Day 4 with Hive by @tiptop97

https://peakd.com/hive-127788/@tiptop97/growing-and-caring-for-garlic-day-4-with-hive

With their garlic crop increasing in size, the plants need more food. So they give them potassium, its an important resource to the plant to make it stronger. They talk about how they do it and using ash for example as a natural source.

Thats my five picks for this week, come back next week to see
Solo's next weekly picks. I curate posts every Tuesday and do this through MSP. Thanks so much to the Minnow Support Group for giving me the opportunity to serve as a curator!

Oh no! I get seed growing FOMO from posts like these. I haven’t planted anything new this season and now it’s a bit too late 🙈
