If you have followed this series of posts, you will know that in this region of southern Venezuela, water is the protagonist and on this day we visit more incredible waterfalls and rivers. I will tell you this time about the Mauraik Waterfall.

We got into the Toyota trucks and at 9:00 in the morning we were already close to an area called La Laja, there is the Kuravera Valley, the cars reached a certain point and then we went on foot to a place where there was a narrow path we had to go down. A waterfall could be seen in the distance.

Our guide Capino told us that the Mauraik Waterfall was not very far away, about 15 minutes approximately, and that we had to be careful at every step because the terrain is uneven and there are many stones that we could trip over.

At the end of that descent we found a river with large rocks which we crossed and a small waterfall that has a large pool of crystal clear waters, it made us want to get in there but we had to move towards our goal.

The path now led us to a wooded area with many trees and where we walked along one side between large stones so as not to get wet in the river.

I always like to go behind the guide, both to listen to what he says and ask questions, as well as to arrive among the first and be able to take photos of the place before the whole group arrives, that is, without people.

The Mauraik Waterfall, the guide told us, is one of the secrets that remain in La Gran Sabana, as it is kind of hidden it's still little known and that's why there were no people here, only our group was there, something great because without the crowds, nature it is more enjoyable.

Seeing that well where the water shone like gold with the sun's rays and the impressive waterfall through reddish stones, I wanted to take a bath immediately.

Yes, the water, as in almost all of La Gran Sabana, was cold, but after being submerged for a while, I no longer felt it so much. The most fun is to reach the wall from where the water falls and receive an energetic massage.

While we were enjoying this earthly beauty we were suddenly able to observe a heavenly beauty as well: a solar halo, it's not very common to see this meteorological phenomenon, so we were all amazed and happy.

This event for me added more mysticism to the place than I already thought it had. We spent a very special morning there between the dense forest and the waterfall.

We returned walking along the same path and when we arrived where the Toyota trucks were, we stopped for a few minutes while everyone arrived to observe the unusual landscapes that this savannah offers.

Nice place.
I've never been near a natural waterfall which is sad for me.
Keep traveling.

Wow it seems really amazing, I have seen a lot of waterfalls similar to this one in Iceland, but unfortunately for me, the temperature was not so high to take a bath ❄️

Wow! Imagine that, Iceland... a place so apparently different from Venezuela. These waters are cold but I don't think they are as cold as Iceland hahaha, thanks for stopping by!

Ahahaah well there are areas in Iceland that are not that cold actually since there are a lot of geothermal pools where the temperature is really nice... but if you go there in winter (as I did) the problem is to arrive there... we were caught in the middle of a snowstorm and we couldn't take a bath 😅
Have a wonderful weekend @sofathana 😊
