Picked up another 300 mason jars, even if they think I'm a moon shiner now!

Found mason jars for sale at a farm supply trading post by the homestead. Since I, like everyone else am very short of canning jars; I picked up what I could afford from my mad money!

I had room for 300, with a box on my passenger's lap:

Some went into shelving deep storage:

I intended to buy these slowly, from the local stores; but a year and a half ago, they disappeared from the shelves. This is me trying to catch up with the planned volume. My target is 3500 jars, since these will no longer be available after the SHTF. Disposable lids have been stocked in, in quantity; along with tattler reusable lids.

With me moving into fermenting and vacuum sealing, the disposables become reusables too; and that helps! The disposable lids will be used on excess production intended for barter, while the tattlers will be for homestead use only. If I can commit 500 jars for barter, the remainder should carry is through well!

The Aquaponics system it intended to provide fresh food year around, supplemented by canning and fermenting. The local Keystone lake, will be a source for fish protein. We plan to pressure can excess catch for later use. Since it is half a million surface acres, it shouldn't run out, LOL 🤕😆😁😆

I hope to get another 300 jars from them, before they are sold out. Of course, I will keep on looking at the local stores, sometimes they have a few there. I am going to start buying jars with the regular sized mouths, which I've been avoiding; to get enough to be safe, before they destroy the dollar! 💸💸💸

Be blessed, and keep on prepping.... 💗🤠👍🌎

Wish I could have bought more! I will keep buying them, until they aren't available anymore....

Then it will have to be enough.

That is a lot of jars! How do you plan to store them? You know, if you are 'bartering' with people you expect to see again, then maybe you could devise a deposit system. That way they might bring the empty jars back, and if they don't, you got something in return for the jar.

Lots of room for these, plan to buy more soon. The barter will have to include the value of the jar, unless they bring an empty. Good catch!

👍🤠🙏💗😋🥞
