Oak paneling...on the hoof, LOL!

When I dropped off a load of prepping supplies today, I finally remembered to get a picture of the baby oak tree on the homestead. I will never actually cut this one for lumber, but I stood in front of it to give some scale.

Here is the little oak, shading my house:

And:

I am 6 foot 2 inches tall, and 250 pounds; standing 2 foot in front of the little tree!

This side is over 5 foot across, and I will measure how tall, after we get moved by triangulation. Rough guess now is 120 feet...she is a big girl! We get an amazing amount of shade from this one, combined with the wind off the lake; it is ten degrees cooler there. This will make it easier to cool the house in the summer, unloading my power generation for off grid. Oddly, there is a power pole on the property, and grid connection available. I don't trust them during my a SHTF scenario, so I am trying to just stay off grid entirely from the start.

I had promised to post a picture of this tree for some, but with me in the picture I'm sure they regret that now!

Keep on prepping, they will deliberately crash it soon....

Beautiful tree and just pruning should give you plenty of firewood if you had an emergency.

Beautiful work man and I hope you have an amazing day.

The homestead is covered with big trees, so I should have firewood. The lake has lots of driftwood that washes up.

Oh wow that's even smarter. Yep just get a decent boat and hook up to some of the floating logs and drag them back you not only have plenty of firewood but you also have a ton of building material.

Phenomenal job man and untold blessings towards your continued success!

Hoping it all works out, but with all plans; I know I will need to make changes on the fly. But change is the Spice of life, so that's okay....

I do plan to lean heavily on the lake when the SHTF happens!

That lake is why I'm not worried about the well we're drilling! The water there is shallow and sweet

Right on and dirt is such a excellent filter.

Close to the lake, and used to be a river valley before they built the lake in the 1960s; means a lot of sand for my well filter! I will hit water at 60 feet, and drill down to 120 feet for reserve water head.

That is some excellent planning ahead! I really can't wait for one day me and puppy dog to turn all of these little votes into a small slice of heaven for us.

Sounds good! Get out to the country as quickly as you are able.

A good dog is cost effective backup. That is a great plan too!

Absolutely if needed I just run to the reservation and hide out with family. I know the second I get to the border they're going to check my family reference and I'll get a escort all the way to our land. Funny it is ironically the other end of the reservation and I have to cut all the way through the reservation to get there.

I already know my skills will be a benefit to the tribe. Adding to our current strength.

Now That is a great plan! The tribe should form a militia, as a great prepping move....

Good to see you and that is a big tree, I reckon best stay off grid and manage your own electricity supply.

I hope to do so, I have all the parts except the Battery. I have about 45% of the LiIon cells I need for the battery here from Old laptop battery packs. I may need to buy the rest new.

🤠🤕😭
