Last Sunday was the homeless meal, then things got serious!

(Edited)

We set up for the monthly homeless meal last Sunday; and we were doing well...we fed 105 people!

The weather was brutal with 27 °F temperatures, ice and wind.

We fed spaghetti, chili, macaroni and cheese, green beans casserole, sandwiches with Panera bread, and pizza. We loaded them up because it was Cold!

When we were shutting down, and a bunch of volunteers had already left; when we got 'the call'! The Tulsa Day Care Center for the Homeless was in trouble. Due to the extreme temperatures, they let everyone come in. Then they realized they were out of food! We fed 24 at the Denver House, who got the call from the Day Care Center; asking for help.

They gave them our numbers, and they were in a panic. We always make extra food, so we started making more foam plates.

We also began making more emergency food , using what we carry canned in our trailer. Adding chili beans to our chili almost doubled or available chili, doctored with some spice; leaving a respectable chili roaster load!

Two volunteers go for all the chips they can, and I start several gallons of cheese:

Here I've stripped an empty roaster, to begin making queso. We scrounged a quart of milk to thin the cheese where we can heat it properly. They came back with a dozen big bags of chips, and 3 cans of Rotel for heat!

The foam plates started filling:

We put chips in the large pocket, and covered one side with queso, and the other side was covered with chili. We added green beans casserole, and the remaining macaroni and cheese.

Using what we could make on the fly, along with the leftovers we stacked up about twice what I thought we could make:

With only half our volunteers still available, we went for it.

We had made multiple sandwiches from Panera bread:

These helped fill a lot more meals. This guy and myself started this feed 10 years ago.

This was the craziest homeless feed ever, and we made at least 60 more meals. We took everything we could box up, and it was just enough. GOD plans much better than we do!

At the end of the day, everyone was warm and fed! It was a good day feeding the homeless.

Can anyone tell me why @buildawhale took over $14 from me on this post?

I don't understand why he did this, or how he did this! I understand downvoting for bad or off color content, but from here this just looks like theft.

I'm thinking about not posting here for a while, this is just unfair! I'll spend my online time elsewhere...this pisses me off!!!!

I thought this kind of stuff was left on steemit...if this is here, maybe I should go back there!

🤮🤬🥵💩😳👎😡💲🤬

He was countervoting xeldal, they have a war going.

You doing ok over there?

I figured, but this @buildawhale account contributes Nothing, and only has an attack bot present on hive. I thought this kind of kindergarten behavior was beneath hive!

I will be working tomorrow as a consultant making hard cash (I'll make more in a couple of days than my entire hive balance). I was only posting to try to help others, as there is never a real return in crypto. But the like rewards were fun to see I was helping. I'm looking at a website to teach on, maybe I can help there and avoid infantile bots!

I'll probably post here again, but it not as often; at least until hive cleans out the bots like they claimed they would. I have a lot of things to share, just trying to decide how to best do it!

I sent you a wallet memo with details, but that account is likely the largest reason that folks don't spam with botnets and use ai to counterfeit hive from the pool.
He has his reasons, and I haven't seen any unwarranted flags from him, to this point.

He downvoted a post on feeding the homeless, I think that was unwarranted....

The sad part, is that it looks like he's not even here; and has just left the bot!

Oh, he is here, he can't post because of the flagwars, but I follow his flags, he hasn't missed a day in a long time.

Kindergarteners! Sad that the flag wars is limiting these content creators to Nothing, and destroying their joy of posting. Self assembled prison!

I'll be in shoulder repair surgery in 8 hours, but it may give me time to begin some posts again.

It does increase the hurdles we have to jump to be here, for sure.
But, without that guy chasing off the spammers there would be no point in real people even being here.
-edit- here is one: berderamd
All we would get is ai generated bs and bot posted spam.

Good luck with the surgery, I hope it helps.

A Bully is a bully, even hiding behind a keyboard. Still haven't got the urge to post again, plenty to teach; but still soul searching.

I Worked two half days there, and even with a discount (it's fun to work there) I billed over a grand. They want me back ASAP....

But we'll see. Be blessed!

Anti-abuse work is thankless.
No matter how much spam he chases off he will find few friends, it's just the nature of the work.

I guess the surgery went well?

If he has answered me, and explained what was so offensive as to require a mm massive down vote; it wouldn't look like simple bullying from my end. I still have no idea what 'triggered' him to downvote a post on a homeless meal!

The shoulder hurts, but it is a lot better already! The range of motion machine is Not fun, but I'm using it to avoid adhesions.

The content didn't have anything to do with it, it was simply a counter to xeldal's vote.
He does it pretty consistently that I can tell.

Range of motion is important, I've stiffened up and need to do some more exercises myself.

I have moved into herbal treatments to accelerate healing. I have less pain tonight, but I can only hold it for about 3 days before the skin suffers. That will give me 45 days of healing equivalent time. Then I'll move to the other damaged tendon while I help the skin on the first.

He is punishing innocent posters, to harm his target. That's very infantile, and harms Hive long term!

I still haven't decided to begin posting again, but I have a good start on a 'how to' book on solar power system construction. I also have an outline on a home built wind system book that will make wind power cost effective. It includes domestic hot water with the heat from the dump load off the wind generator control unit.

Using posting time has been beneficial; I'm considering the website as another use of my time.

I am still angry about being collateral damage! I may buy a few thousand dollars of mad money for hive, to track and upvotes against this ham handed thug. I just don't like bullies....

He has 100's of 1000's in hive, probably not gonna win a power contest with him, and like I said, it's a complex topic.

But, every hive you get is one they don't get.
At some point the inflation levels out this power disparity.
That happens faster the more folks we get posting and powering up.

I knew I couldn't win that, just trying to let the innocent victims know that not everyone on hive is like this jerk. And maybe repair a little of the damage he has done....

Sadly inflation will raise all boats. As the dollar falls, hive will climb; raising my rowboat, and his ocean liner! The character flaw will remain, as will the problem.

Anything you power up will spread that influence to those you choose rather than where it would have went otherwise, so you would win in that less is available to be had.
At some point that influence spreads enough that the crowd will have the power rather than the few.
I don't math enough to know when that might be, but I do know that every little bit they don't get is a bit of power they can't have.

Your case looks to be random, it had nothing to do with you, I'd ignore it and move on.

I kind of have, the consulting is really going gangbusters. My 'part time' job will net about $7K this month. I still have to build a control system for irrigation at a commercial pecan orchard, he wants it in 3 weeks. And the aerospace company I used to go to often has begun calling me for help again. And I'm troubleshooting a hospital problem in California. When it rains, it pours.

I worked on a 3500 gallon tank of saturated cyanide last week.

Warm enough to be a spa, but it's Not recommended, LOL!

That combined with her in the hospital and my shoulder surgery, and time is limited right now. But hive will no longer be my primary blog, when things ease up.

🤬😡🤢🤮🥵👎

Man, you have been busy.
I'm guessing that is a plating shop?

I hope your wife gets better.
The surgery did what you needed it to do?

Crazy busy! They do plating there; but they mainly do aircraft parts overall.

Me too, she has been in the hospital too damn long! All her problems she has now are hospital acquired. I pray she survives, so I can bring her home and get her healthy again!

I was hit from behind, totaling my car; and hyperextend my RT shoulder. The doctor wanted to replace the shoulder, but I had him do a laparoscope repair instead.

🤕👍

I hope the insurance paid, it will never cover being in pain, but it will help.

Any good doctor would recommend more exercise and sunshine for us all.

I hope you find time to take pics of the work and share them with us.
I've wanted to learn plating since I learned it could be done in a bucket with a battery, just haven't ever found the set up to do it.

Hasn't paid yet, but they are being sued; so they will!

More exercise is wise, but time also limits that.

I have two power supplies I plan to do some plating work with them. I have conductive paint to cover objects to receive plated metal overlay. There is also some electrolytes nickel solution that will plate without power applied.

The other unit I've been working on is an oven large enough to fill with a fork lift.
IMG_20230329_145434052.jpg
The operator cleared out all the control variables, turning this oven into a bomb. They want me to reprogram this oven...again!

Sunshine is the key to more vitamin d.

Do they often bake forklifts, or is it for powder coating?
It doesn't look like many ceramic kilns I've seen.

Peakd does a good job of blowing up pics.
I don't see a needle on the paper record keeper.
Do the electronic pads do annealing sequences, or something?

I love outside time!

They stack half a dozen pallets of material, and process them at varying temperatures for various results.
IMG_20230329_145421576.jpg
There's a needle on the chart...process requires it.

Some of the process is annealing , while some simply dry out the material. It would do well with powder coating, but I don't know if the do that or not (they have to a dozen buildings covering 4 city blocks).

💗👍💙😁

Oh, there it is, I see it now.

So it's drying some sort of siding for a building?

No, aircraft parts mainly. Some are simple drying between plating, but some are annealed. They also make mil parts. Lots of documentation!

Used to work there every week about half time.

👍😋😳🤕
