Splinterlands NFT Investment on ETH blockchain - Runi - Is Up and Running! Bonus: Watch My Inaugural Battle :)

Runi can be used in game now, and this is mine

• I used 0.38ETH + gas fee and minted this Runi during the public minting (~$500USD)
• This one has a Legendary Power Core, you can't really see it, it is kind of blocked. Wish they would move the portrait a bit higher
• So far the highest offer I have gotten is 0.35ETH to buy this off me (minus the gas fee if I decided to sell)

I will hold onto it. It is growing on me.

This is a bold and positive move to promote Splinterlands, and HIVE

My only gripe is the transaction fees on the ETH blockchain. Every step of the way you have to pay gas fee. Coming from HIVE and getting spoiled by the efficiency and "free" offered by HIVE, I continue to appreciate HIVE more and more everyday.

Overall it is net positive. ETH has a much bigger community, many of us are part of that community. Cross-chain collaboration has the benefit of exposure to a massive number of potential new players.

I believe we will really see the benefit during the next bull market, if NFTs that are actually useful, like Runi, stands out and go up massively in price. Price appreciation brings you interest, interest brings you more interest, it is a virtuous cycle. Inevitably people will look into Splinterlands, and some will join the HIVE community by default. It brings visibility and help HIVE stand out.

I have to admit, with a pinch of greed, and a pint of hope, the thrill and anticipation got me to mint more than 1 Runi

Emotions are bad for making investment decisions, now I have capital tied up in Runi when they could be better invested else where, or is it.

2% - that was the magic number, the probability to get a gold foil. I wasn't even thinking about "investing", I was gambling. I knew I have never had that kind of luck, but one can only hope right? It felt like a casino, except you know you would not lose it all, but guaranteed (during a bear market) to lose some ETH for the thrill. It was like buying entertainment.

Maybe I was also looking for the ugly ape face, those damn apes made NFT even more popular after all. The apes owned hedge funds with GME short squeeze. Nostalgic.

Now I just need to make sure I don't get attached to all of them. When the time is right, I will, no I must, have the discipline to recover my capital.

[GUIDE] If you want to activate your Runi, this is where to find it

• Items > Cards

• Then you will see "Manage Runi" under your name

• This brings you to the interface, right in the middle you will see "Assign Runi", you can change the account to assign to

• This is the address for Runi staking "0x...D7590"

• Unfortunately, you have to pay GWEI to stake and unstake every single time!

After this step, wait for the confirmation, then shortly after the Runi will be attached to your account, and you can start using it in game!

Here is the inaugural battle for Runi

I don't think most people know Runi can be used. I have not seen any opponent using this card against me, yet.

I was waiting for Reverse Speed rule set, but decided Runi was the best card to use for this particular battle.

Look at all the Alpha/Beta (?) cards, I thought Runi would have been killed in the beginning (then this would be a very boring battle replay #lol), Reflective Shield saved the day against Blast. Even if it dies prematurely, Rebirth will bring it back to see another around.

This card will be nuts in Reverse Speed, I can't wait to test it out

• Opportunity with True Aim and 4 Attack that does not miss? Crazy.
• 1 Armor and Rebirth makes it more durable
