Today is Boxing Day in Canada

Boxing Day is supposed to be Canada's Black Friday... until Black Friday came to Canada years ago.

Years back, everywhere would be packed with huge lines of people trying to get the "door crasher" deal (there isn't one this year), which usually means another TV #lol

It is surprisingly quiet today. Not much traffic, less advertisement than Black Friday.

Are people tapped out?

Or is it because...

  • Black Friday went from a day to weeks?
  • Boxing Day went from a day to days or a week?
  • There is nothing to buy this year?
  • Discounts are worse than Black Friday? Almost as if retailers no longer care about the Canadian tradition.
  • Most purchases are now completed online?

Retail doesn't feel the same anymore, there isn't the hype and FOMO factors anymore.

Gone the days of "clearance" items priced at almost too good to be true with massive line ups.
(I always think this is the true purpose, retailers hide the most sought after items, while bring out everything they wanted to liquidate on this day)

Online is convenient and prices are easily compared, I am guilty too! But as we go more and more virtual are we losing the human connections?

Can't wait for the day drones deliver everything, and everyone lives in a box hooked up to VR and no longer needs to go out at all.

NOT. Until singularity.

There is a line that shouldn't be crossed, and we are almost there.

Hopefully incoming year is good for play to earn models and also for Bitcoin. I also decided to buy some gold card. Some people's says bitcoin see his bottom and some says not. Thanks for sharing your analysis with us.
