Wednesday Walk - Winter Scenes from Chicago

Here are a few winter scenes from Chicago for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay

A local park gets decorated heavily for Christmas and there is even a little coach house with Santa inside with hot chocolate.

This is the first time my daughter got to see Santa, thankfully she didn't cry and smiled nicely.
1000003482.jpg
In the meantime we had to wait in line in subzero weather looking at the lights.
1000003484.jpg
After walking around quickly we finally got to see Santa and then escaped back to our warm house.

1000003546.jpg
The next day the subzero weather turned warm all of a sudden.
1000003545.jpg
All the snow melted in Chicago and the day got clear but windy.
1000003542.jpg
No longer will I be slipping on my back on this icy bridge. At least for now.
1000003544.jpg
No gloomy gray clouds are blocking today either.
1000003541.jpg
The fog is all gone too. I suspect another polar vortex will come rolling through eventually and will end up freezing the river solid.

Now on my lunch break I can take a long walk out to get some vitamin d before everything turns gray again. Now I have to head back to the Willis tower on the right, probably a good mile away.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

I'm not sure she even knows the idea of what Santa Clause is yet but she really enjoyed the lights.

It is a great event that your daughter saw Santa Claus for the first time and the best thing is that she was not afraid of him but smiled. Children's illusions are beautiful and that place full of lights looks fantastic, even with the snow.

Luckily later in your walk the snow dissipated and the fog lifted so that you could go on with your daily tasks. The buildings look spectacular and so do the reflections on the water. I hope the coming polar wave doesn't freeze it, although it could happen. It was a nice walk but especially because your daughter got to meet Santa. Hugs!

It was way too cold out, maybe now that all the snow melted I'll go back again to enjoy the lights more.

The view of the building it's totally stunning to me maybe because I live in a little village so seeing all these tall buildings impresse me, by the way the Chicago park in winter style looks cool

Nice shots. I always like the Chicago street scenes. Nice to get a smile for Santa. Anything for the loot haha I'm a sucker for hot chocolate at these type events. Our little downtown has a couple of evening shopping events that include a $0.25 hot chocolate hut! Doubles as a handwarmer this time of year.

It was brutal waiting in line in such cold weather. Thankfully all that trouble didn't result in a crying kid right as we got to Santa lol. I suspect the hand warming only lasts a minute before the hot chocolate it cold.
