Wednesday Walk - Wild Baby Goose Chase

I found a bunch of baby geese for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay

Look at all these little goslings peeping around.

p5125909_copy.jpg
They were all just chilling on the edge of the bank being guarded by their parents.

Looks like the nesting geese on the floating islands hatched their babies over the weekend.

Eventually they launched off into the lake for a swim.

I'll be keeping an eye on these little guys. Hopefully they will all make it and not get picked off by the fox this year.

p5146101_copy.jpg
These are just the geese by the lake. Later on I went to another lake and found some more baby geese.

p5156159_copy.jpg
This is more of a marshy area that is out in the wild.

p5156161_copy.jpg
These geese were a bit more wild compared to the ones on the lake next to me. Here they can easily sneak into the reeds to hide.

p5156162_copy.jpg
Once they saw me they booked it off into their little reed pathways.

p5156164_copy.jpg
I ended up having to double back on the path again and they were out in the open again. Off into the reeds they went again lol.

The clouds started darkening and I had to book it back to the car, but at least I got lots of goslings photos before the rain hit.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

5 years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://peakd.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem

They are so cute! I saw lots of them on my bike ride the other day. One family was chilling right on the bike path and the parent goose almost charged me as I rode past.

Haha they can be pretty protective. I'm sure a bike is a serious looking threat to them.

That swerve I did saved me, haha. It's not the first time a Canadian goose told me to back off...

They made it past the age for the osprey to snatch them up fortunately lol.

I'll try and keep an eye on their growing process. They are pretty funny when they are almost black and white but still have the fuzz leftover.

Cool 😎
Yes… that’s cute and funny too when the fuzzy bits still stick out. Looking forward to their progression 😁👋🏻
Have a great day further @sketch.and.jam

How nice to be with these birds! I would go swimming with them!

Unfortunately that lake is pretty gross and full of algae and leeches. They probably have to pick off the leeches every time they go swimming.

A successful chase I would say 🙂 Great photos. I love the swimming photo with one adult at the head of the goslings and one behind. Its like a kindergarten school trip.

That's their protective stance, just in case a huge snapper decides to try and get one from below.

Babies are always cute and lovely.
But adult geese ... I remember from childhood how I came to visit my grandmother, and went to the pump for water. Three geese attacked me😄. Oh, and fierce animals! They can be started instead of guard dogs!😆

Same thing happened to me but the domesticated geese thought I had food so they attacked and started biting my hand. They are pretty brutal with their bite twists and serrated beaks.

Duck babies are very sweet, I really want to take them in my arms :-)
