Wednesday Walk - Summer Chicago
Summer has finally hit Chicago for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay

The river is high and there are barely any waves on the water from all the thunderstorms.

The ivy is nice and hydrated. Now it is growing up the side of this huge building.

Finally it is getting hot and humid. This year we had winter cold quite late all the way to the first week of June.

Still the lake is too cold to swim in. In downtown Chicago it stays temperate because all the wind blows off the lake creating a cooling effect.

Most office drones like me still have to wear long sleeves to work because now that it is barely warm enough the offices crank up the AC. So you sweat outside then freeze inside.

Now for a sneaky photo inside a building next to mine where they don't allow photos of this light sculpture. The people in all black will yell at you if you try and get a photo of it, thus I snuck part of it going down an escalator lol.

Now for some classic old infrastructure from the El train. You climb up these things then catch these various color coded trains to get around different parts of the city. Some lines are bad to catch as they take you to bad parts of town. Others are nicer as they go to nicer neighborhoods.

Here is a classic building nestled in between some newer buildings. Luke's is a traditional fast food restaurant before they all became chains. You can get Italian beef sandwiches in there along will pizza, burgers and various forms of hot dogs.

Now that summer is here we get blasted by random storms so you always have to carry your umbrella.

Now for the School of Rock getting invaded by house sparrows.

Sadly one of the chicks got washed out from the sign during a thunderstorm. Poor thing also got stepped on by commuters. Now the rats will come out at night and take it home for food.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
Nice 👍 vie
Thanks :-)
Happy #wednesdaywalk 👍 Wind off lake cools in the summer and massive snow storms in the winter haha is Luke's like the Bear?
I think Luke's is like it was before Portillos became Mcdonalds. Now we have the Indiana bears because of our pointy headed braindead mayor.
1 - Oh ready to go, 1 zero your my hero.
And they will still call them the Chicago Bears no doubt.
