Wednesday Walk - Nature Walks

Here are a few sights from my nature walks this week for #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay

The art installations are finally finished in the arboretum. They'll get quite a bit of traffic for the first few weeks then everyone will get tired of them. I might put some mushroom plugs in this one to see some oysters sprouting out of them in the fall lol.

Here's an inchworm hanging on an invisible string. I wish I had brought my macro lens, but all I had was my zoom lens. Fortunately it was able to focus on the tiny inchworm.

The moon was looking nice with a bit of clouds above.

All the poplar trees are dropping cotton now. The lake is covered in cotton obscuring the lake house reflection. When I was a kid I used to light the piles of seeds to see them instantly burn up.

A sparrow landed above my head and I was able to catch this shot. Too bad it is just another bird butt photo lol. They always do that, one instant they are perfectly posed then when you click the shot they have turned their butt at you.

Speaking of birds the geese families by the lake are thriving. They usually take over this area of the sidewalk next to the large grass field. This place is seriously pooped up.

The oldest goslings are starting to get their color in. These ones are about to get their driving permits.

Here is the other one from that family. This family started out with seven but within one day five were eaten by the hawks. But at least these two survived.

Here's one from the family of three geese that hatched a bit later. They are about middle sized. I never got to see how many this family started out with but it looks like the three will make it to full size.

This is the goose family that grew up on my neighbor's balcony. They started out the latest and had seven at first but lost one the first day. So far though after a good three week the other six are still surviving.

They are growing exponentially. Probably in a couple weeks they'll be starting to grow in their adult feathers.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

FLYING licence not driving 🤦‍♂️ lighting things on fire as a kid is a sure sign of juvinile delinquency haha since I'm just going stream of consciousness here... the 7 to 5 to 2 goslings reminds me of the Ten Commandments scene in History of the World

The goose version of a driving license is they get permission to stand in the middle of the road and hold up traffic. The hawks sure are picking off the amount of commandments one by one, soon they'll be back to they days of noah before the flood...
