Wednesday Walk - Exploring A New Swamp
I found a new area to explore for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay
This area is quite familiar as it is my gym. But I've never actually explored the forests around it. This first photo was preworkout when the sun was piercing through some rain clouds.
Now after my workout I decided to explore the surrounding area.
By now the sun was starting to set. I sometimes like to go out into this soccer field to do reverse lunges.
Off in the other direction this cloud was lit bright pink from the sunset.
Now it is time to explore the wild forest by the soccer fields. This little guy lead me to what looks like a deer path.
As it turns out the deer path lead me to a really thick little swamp.
Now I know where all the frog noises are coming from when I leave the gym at night. There are all kinds of tree frogs and spring peepers in here.
There are also quite a few wildflowers here.
I even found a milkweed with some monarch larvae on it.
Now I headed back to the car and found a perfect rose. I'm surprised they aren't withered by now.
This little spotless ladybug was waiting on the car. I relocated it before finally heading back home. Perhaps I'll be able to check out the swamp in the morning to see how many turtles are there basking in the sun. I suspect there might be quite a few turtles in that muck lol.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
I like the pink cloud photo 😍 and then you followed a bunny down a rabbit hole... 🤣

Swamp looks full of potential! nice find. Happy #wednesdaywalk
The bunny was a help in discovering the secret passageway but there were quite a few stickers along the way. I wonder if those lityle guys spend most their time picking stickers.
It's amazing the pictures you show when you explore the swamps. Good job friend
Fortunately the mosquitos weren't too bad either. Usually those swamps are breeding grounds, maybe the frogs ate them all.
maybe because frogs really like mosquitoes
Always great to explore new areas and especially when it is familiar, but not visited the area around it.
I bet there is lots of wildlife around the swamp area…
Great captures of the sun beams and the insects 🐞
Have a wonderful day today 👋🏻☀️
I suspect there are all sorts of nocturnal critters living there. Probably a good place for raccoons and possums to hang out as a base of operations to attack people's trash cans at night.
Yep, you are probably right there @sketch.and.jam 😎😊
Going out with night vision would tell you…
Your flower was an echinacea purpurea.
That's one of the few I can remember. It was surrounded by those stinky little yellow ones.
