Wednesday Walk - Critters by the Lake
Here are some sightings by the lake for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay

Here we see the alpha predator of the lake a great blue heron. Anything shorter than them they will try and eat, from frogs to baby ducklings, rodents and of course fish.

Another predator are the numerous bullfrogs. Its hard to see but this guy just ate another bullfrog. There's a bit of a foot sticking out of his mouth.

What a life just sitting in the muck all day long waiting for something to get into your pounce zone.

This one looked like it was expecting me to throw it some food. Sadly I couldn't find a grasshopper or some other poor insect to throw in front of it.

They have gators in this lake?! Nope its just a log that turtles rest on. Also I was able to catch a few of the strange flies that hover over the water. I'm sure the fish and the frogs eat tons of these guys.

This turtle has a nice submerged log to sit on. It can sunbathe its shell and be in the water at the same time.

I'm pretty sure this is a red eared slider in a muckier part of the lake. Looks like lots of cottonwood seeds are there for it to accidentally eat.

This guy stared right at the camera. I wonder if it thinks I have food or something. This is one of the largest red eared sliders I've ever seen. It is nearly as big as a snapping turtle. Sadly no sightings of a snapper this time.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
Thanks again @scrooger :-)
Your photos are stunning. You've captured every detail of the animals' features beautifully. I loved your photos.
Thanks, fortunately on sunny days my zoom lens does amazing but just a bit cloudy and I get lots of noise. Fortunately camera raw can remove most of it.
