Trippy Thursday - Minimalist Struggling Artist
Here are a few minimal designs I created in 3ds max, vray and tyflow for this #trippythursday

The minimal street artist is trying to sell his wares. But the dang cartoonist next to him keeps overselling him. How can he shill his painstakingly cut in half eggshell compositions when there is a pokemon artist next to him?

So he decided to go another route and try and grow some air plants on his blank canvases. This time the expo is at the local farmers market. Sadly people just passed by and said, hey I can DIY it on my own with these cheaper air plants sold at the next booth...

The hardware store had a space open on their wall for local artists. So he decided to use his minimal canvas style on various guages of nails sold at the hardware store. Later on it got smashed by a dolly carrying a refrigerator and someone finally bought it thinking it was ironic art.

The next phase for the struggling artist was to try and get in with the hoitytoity environmentalists with their mansions and limos. He went around the ghetto and collected various broken alcohol bottles and pasted together a collage then wrote a 1,000 word artist statement. This thing sold immediately and was later used to embezzle cash from illicit oil dealings with countries under sanctions. Never trust the limozeen liberals and their pompous environmental preaching. At least he got a sale out of this but couldn't in good conscious continue down this path.

His next strategy was to get into the drug scene and try and promote his style to pill poppers in the rap scene. Unfortunately it was too muted in color and they didn't even understand the concept. Upon leaving the art gallery on this side of town he was robbed and the painting was stepped on in the alley.

Finally the local car dealer has commissioned a canvas from him. All he had to do was paste a bunch of Mitsubishi logos on the canvas in different colors. Pretty cut and dry project that paid the rent barely.

Times got tough for the struggling artist and he had to take up a construction job on the side. While screwing in drywall he got inspired and ended up making this pattern on the wall. The foreman cussed him out and threw him off the jobsite.

While trying to find another side job the struggling artist accidentally left his canvas out in the back yard. The neighbor kid had just bought a bb gun. The next day the canvas looked like this... Needing the money the artist auctioned it off on ebay for a handy five dollars.

Whew the artist finally found a job unboxing produce at the local grocery store. He saved interesting bits of cardboard boxes and formed this canvas. The grocery store hung it up in the back warehouse area and gave him a few extra night shifts for payment.

The struggling artist's girlfriend has been bugging him to get married. But honey I gotta make it with my art career before we can get married... She stormed out and went ring shopping by herself and decided to date the jewelry store owner instead...

Now the artist feels like he's hit rock bottom. The local massage spa felt sorry for him and bought this composition for their foot soaking room.

Finally there is a way to make lots of money for the artist with plenty of time to do art on the side. He applied to be a test subject for a pharmaceutical company... You just have to write down all the side effects of various things they give you. For some reason all his art started to look like various molecules at this time. Perhaps years from now his art will be appreciated after he becomes a whistleblower on the shady practices of the big pharma company...
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
