Thanksgiving Ham

Here is my Thanksgiving taste tester.

Higgs the hamster was helping with taste testing this Thanksgiving.

We made raspberry upside down cake and he got to eat some of the berries that went into the mix.

The little brat even got a few crumbs of the finished cake and he greedily gobbled it up.

His next challenge was a slightly cracked pecan.

These are too big for him to stuff in his cheeks. It's hilarious watching try to figure out what to do with the pecan while he's in my hand. Typically he would try to store it in his cage somewhere. He has given the ok for the freshness of these pecans.

Next up was to cook the sweet potatoes with a bit of persimon in them.

20211124_175934_copy.jpg
The taste tester didn't care for the sweet potatoes much but he love the persimon. It was gone in a second.

Interestingly enough the red rams horn snails loved the sweet potato and demolished it in less than an hour. Even the guppies took a couple bites.

The sweet potatoes turned out great.

Higgs also got some cabbage to even out the sweetness of the persimon. He stuffed it in his cheeks too fast for me to get a photo. The Rotkohl turned out amazing.

The last thing left is the turkey. Higgs and the fish are mostly vegetarian so I had to find another taste tester for the turkey.

beepers1_copy.jpg
Beepers the California kings snake loves to eat turkey.

beepers2_copy.jpg
He actually starts pacing around in his cage whenever we cook poultry because he wants a piece of it. Here he is scarfing some white turkey meat. Sure beats eating a frozen mouse.

That's all for now, happy Thanksgiving.

Haha yeah its quite the zoo, a hamster, snake, two tarantulas a vinegaroon and a couple fish tanks. Fortunately they are all small portable sized pets. Looks like you need to get another hamster, I wish they lived longer.

(Edited)

They are very inexpensive maybe $2 to $10 depending on the type of hamster. Sometimes you can ask the pet stores if they have any extra ones they want to get rid of for free. They make the money off the cage, food and bedding for the hamster.

if it's 10 US dollars, it's very expensive in my country friends

That is for the fancy hamsters most are around $2 or if you ask they often have free hamsters.

Hi I am Wooda P von Morgan Haus German Shepherd service dog. I really like your post and that is a lot of really cool pack members that I would love to sniff.

I have never seen a nope rope before and I'm not sure how my owner would take me sniffing it.

My big question is does it play tug of war? I really love playing that game it's really cool.

Happy Thanksgiving and I hope you have an amazing time.

The nope rope is a bit bitey and coily beware or you might end up with a new collar. The ham will be a better sport about being sniffed though he might demand a ride to the nearest walnut depot. If you ever have ticks or fleas the adopted jumper might be able to help you out.

I don't like hugs from nope rope.

And it's always good to help out friends and for them to help you out thank you for the information.

I really appreciate the advice!

Love your testers! Our animals all got some sort of Thanksgiving dinner each year. Yesterday I took some up to the barn cats, but only Dennis was there. I hope she left some for Lily...

Maybe the adopted coyote in the woods came to finish off the rest of the turkey.
