Market Friday at the Park

Hello dear Hivers,
Its’ time again for our Market Friday. It has been a little hot these past few days but we were still able to go around. Let us take you to District 56 Elk Grove where we did some kind of a Market Friday activity. It was an expansive area to stroll around and where stalls selling varied items were erected.
These stalls were not selling but providing free safety information related to our health and the outdoor environment which is very timely as some are still going camping at this time of the year.
The stall with the taxidermied animal has flyers on camping guides, avoiding a possible encounter with a bear, and other dangers.

Vaping is one of the parents’ concerns for their kids’ health and safety, especially now that schools are back face to face. This one has flyers and reading materials on vaping and its dangers to someone’s health.

A musician on the stage for entertainment.

A trivia item, a wooden replica of an aircraft from yesteryears.

Strollers like us, dressed beautifully in their native country’s costume, accommodatingly posed when we asked if we could take their photo.

Interested in how to make your own bracelet and necklace? This stall is for you, choose the color and beads and they will teach you how to do it?

As we were strolling along I observed (I may be wrong), that the items on the various stalls catered mostly to women. Perhaps because women love to shop be it for themselves or for their homes.
Summer dresses and framed pictures for the walls

Hats to match the colorful tops.

Religious items like rosaries and more picture frames.

Pick your choice from the various shapes and styles of earrings.

Scented candles for aromatherapy to feel calm and relaxed

Cute knick-knacks to beautify tables and lighten up dull corners.

Display of paintings from local artists.

Of course, the walk wouldn’t be complete without food. There was a food truck offering pizza, hotdogs, and cold drinks

Serving Filipino food is this stall. Next time you may want to try lumpia (egg roll) one of my favorite Filipino food.

This was where we ate on the tables and chairs under the shade of the big trees.

Thank you for supporting #MarketFriday! It has always been interesting to walk through a post and get a view of another part of our world. I have read all of the posts, many twice, and it is always a pleasure. Unfortunately, I had something unexpected this week, taking me out of town, so I didn't get to post my personal comment to you. My apologies and it is not a habit as I know everyone works hard to put together great posts. I had wonderful posts this week! I hope that you take the time to go around and check a few out. It makes a better community when the interaction is genuine! Thank you! It helps me out when I am not the only comment on a post. :)
Thank you so much! It is very appreciated!
#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that is these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.
