"Dolo: A Charming Discovery Along the Brenta River"

This morning I woke up an hour early because I was eager to write this post to share with you. Yesterday evening, I visited the Riviera del Brenta. I don't know how many of you are familiar with this place located in the province of Venice, but it is well-known for the numerous Palladian villas built along this river over time. For someone like me, who has studied art for a lifetime, this is a beautiful place to visit. However, I wasn't just impressed by the magnificent villas here but also by a beautiful town called Dolo.

I had never been to this area before, but I had heard about this town, somewhat defined as "Little Venice" because of its bell tower, similar to the one in St. Mark's Square. I was fortunate to arrive in the evening, and, as you can see from the photos, it is even more beautiful at night. Especially during the Christmas season, it is adorned to become even more charming for the holiday festivities.

For those unfamiliar with this place, despite being quite famous in the United States, where it is situated in the Brenta Canal a few kilometers from Venice, Dolo has a population of about 15,000. Historically, it has always been an important place because it is located halfway between Venice and Padua.

Last night, I was impressed by the lights projected onto the bell tower. Lately, video mapping, which involves projecting images through lights onto historical sites, has become very popular. Afterward, I took a stroll through the center of this small town, which can be explored in about half an hour, where other Christmas lights and beautiful Christmas trees were set up.

In conclusion, I can say that Dolo was a pleasant discovery, and it is very beautiful and characteristic due to its strategic location. That evening, I discovered that you can navigate the Brenta from there to reach both Padua and Venice, undoubtedly a lovely excursion that I would like to try. Above all, what struck me the most is that it is crossed by a part of the Brenta River, creating a beautiful romantic atmosphere. Certainly, it's a place to take someone to make them fall in love.
