One of the many hats Silvertop has worn over the years is that of a builder/ remodeler!
Early this morning I pulled out my original Senco SN4 framing pneumatic nail gun!😊
I needed to replace thirty five foot of soffit vent on the high side of my “Great room”.
“Liz I haven’t fired up this gun in a while……!”😲
This was one of the original guns made by Senco in Cincinnati in the 80’s…… they are built like a tank, to last forever!🤗
If needed a “O” ring gasket kit will put these guns back to “new” condition!
Within minutes Silvertop was shooting nails……
How fun is that!!🤗
Liz needed to set up a new computer at work so she ran to town, and let Silvertop play on the roof!😇
Soffit finished by 2:30, it will need caulking and painting, but that will be another day!
The Mrs just pulled in the driveway!🥰
Liz just ordered a two channel “In Ear Wireless Monitor”. This will help us hear each other better when we lead Worship at Church, and we needed to set this unit up.
Have you noticed manuals are not much use anymore Lol!🤣

Both of us have been leading Worship, and running live sound for many years, so we were able to pick through the translations from Chinese to U.S. and soon had two separate wireless channels locked and up and running!🤗

The sound is better now? Liz can probably sing a very high note. Hehe
Because the church was flooded, we lost our monitor speakers. These in ear monitors are completely wireless, and we both have earbuds that have a twitter, woofer, and two mid range speakers, totaling four speakers in each earbud. It helps us sing and play better, because we can hear all the nuances !😀
Oh. How deep is the flood? I never thought such flood would be so bad in your place.
We are safe up in the mountains, but the people in the valley got hit pretty hard last November! It was a fast moving current that overflowed the river deep enough for powerboats to navigate through the neighborhoods rescuing people. Hopefully it won't happen again, some of the people in the valley are having PTSD!
Oh! It's sad that people getting PTSD. That's depressing. Each place where we live has pros and cons.
So very true my friend, many people in the valley did not have insurance in lost everything during the flood last year! With this winter just around the corner they are worried it will repeat......
It seems the flood is inescapable. At least in our place the water subsides quickly.
It doesn't flood every year, so no one really knows what will happen..... The uncertainty is what scares people down in the valley!
Yeah. That's what Liz said. It can either be intense rain or snow.
On top of that we also get the wind lol you never know what the weather will bring in the Pacific Northwest!
Oh yeah, another downside being at the Pacific area.
Yes I suppose, we also live on the Pacific side it has beauty, but it has its down side.....
That's true. We have beautiful beaches but we are prone to disasters, bad weather, or even earthquake.
Thankfully we have not had earthquakes lately, although we have an active volcano close by and we live on the ring of fire........
Same. We're also in the ring of fire. We had Magnitude 6.something last July.
It's a small world, I am continuously surprised to find how many volcanoes are active around the world....
There are volcanoes close to our province. The most recent strong eruption was January 2020, before Covid declared as pandemic.
The volcano near us usually errupts like clockwork every 200 years it is way overdue......
Is it close to the volcano referred to in the movie Dante's Peak?
They were saying that this was similar to mount Saint Helens Volcano which is in southern Washington state. We have several volcanoes in our state, and where we live we are at the northern volcano called Mount Baker.....
Yeah. I heard Washington State has lots of volcanoes. There are some dormant and active ones in our country. The most shocking eruption I think is Mt. Pinatubo way back in 1991. I was very young at that time.
I remember Mt. Pinatubo......it made news around the world, it can be very dangerous very scary!!
Oh, you're familiar of it. Yeah, even the ashes reached nearby countries.
Very powerful, very scary what volcanoes can do!!!!
That's true. It's one of the things I'm scared of when I was young.
I can understand that my friend, when we moved to the Northwest Mount Baker was steaming no one knows when it will erupt!!
That's true. It's unpredictable when will be the eruption.
They tell us that we are long overdue for an eruption from Mount Baker, but still no one can predict very accurately......
That's true. Mount Pinatubo used to be dormant before it erupted.
That's scary…… And it was a massive irruption!!!! Do you know if it's still active and smoking now??
At the moment, it's not active. In fact, it became a tourist attraction with its beauty. However, dormancy doesn't mean it won't reactivate.
So very true my friend, our volcano technically is dormant, but it's still very much an active volcano! Mount baker has steam vents, and many tremors ! No one knows when the next eruption will be......
So you feel some earthquakes?
Yes, it's not a very strong earthquake up here but with the Volcano nearby no one knows what will happen tomorrow......
Yeah that's true. Oh, I just dreamed last night of an earthquake.
So many homes in the Northwest are not built to withstand earthquakes, it would be a terrible thing!!!
Here in the Philippines, we prefer concrete houses to be safe from the yearly typhoons. However, it's scary when there's earthquake, which cannot be forecasted when it will happen.
That does sound a bit safer, I hope they build them strong, like you said concrete can be scary if it collapses on you!!!

Wonderful job with the nail gun and it does look sturdy, equipment built back then really last long unlike the mass produced gadgets especially from China. You use something for a few years or months and it totally breaks down. Thanks for sharing and do enjoy your Wednesday walk :}
