This first video contains attempts to defeat Rykard in my friend Fang's world in ELDEN RING on PS4. Like Maliketh, Rykard is one of the more difficult bosses who is tough due to how overall strong they are and due to their second health bar -- without there being temporary invincibility periods, or none that I know of. For this fight, Fang was using an upgraded version of the Serpent-Slaying blade that did a ton of damage to Rykard. Unfortunately he died during the video's first attempt. While waiting to be re-summoned, I messed around with my incantations since I'm a hybrid faith build that could not stand to get close to Rykard due to the surrounding lava pit and the fact that my Endurance stat was too low -- making me more of a glass or even paper cannon. We try to start off each battle with as many buffs possible since we're both very offense heavy. I use Golden Vow and Flame Grant Me Strength since they stack.
On that second run, I try to use more Lightning Spear and Frenzied Burst Incantations since I had to stay so far outside the lava pool before we could transition to part-two of the battle. Round two is a bit insane looking because not only is Rykard wielding a sword but he's much more mobile now. I try to catch him with some giant fire ball spells but sometimes he moved much too far away from me. Thankfully, Fang's Serpent Slayer weapon did a ton of damage against him. Near the end of our second attempt, I was able to add a little Scarlet Rot status-effect due to Dragon Rot Breath but just before Rykard could die Fang succumbed to the lava. Attempt three was basically all super-heavy damage from Fang's Serpent Slayer and me sprinkling Rot Breath. Unfortunately for round two of attempt three we got separated in the beginning but thankfully I was able to keep blasting Rot Breath while Fang dished it out with Rykard in the lava.
The tough part about defeating Rykard in my world was that, despite my magic being stronger, it was way too difficult for me to get close to him and Fang was a lot weaker due to being a cooperator instead of a host. In the beginning of this second video, we got crushed and had to figure out how to adjust to our new weaknesses -- and my continued semi-uselessness lol.Thankfully in round one of the second attempt, we sailed past Rykard's first form rather quickly.
Fang took all the aggro for round two of the Rykard's second form and I just kept peppering him with Rot Breath when he was close enough or desperately looking for an edge of the lava pool I could stand on without dying. I tried to let the Scarlet Rot effect eat away at Rykard after Fang died by just running around out of reach but was not prepared for how far the reach of Rykard's snakes were and missed out on a victory. This was overall good because Fang wouldn't get experience if I'd won there.
Round three felt like quick work. We already both knew what to do and how to stay out of Rykard's reach while mobbing him during the openings in his attack patterns. It was pretty funny for this last attempt because Rykard basically ignored me completely while I just peppered him nonstop or chased after him while he crawled toward Fang. Overall, a super fun fight and can't wait to try it again in NG+

Amazing and memorable boss battle.
Thanks. Rykard's one of the cooler bosses in Elden Ring -- two forms, two health bars, surrounded by lava, and he gets even more vicious with that sword and extra magic-spells. Still can't believe he's an optional boss. He was way more fun to fight than a lot of story bosses.

Loved fighting this boss so much. Almost wished he had one more form to fight. Can't believe this was optional. Makes some of the story bosses look incredibly tame in comparison.
I LOVE HOW YOU TELL EVERYTHING!!!! xD without a doubt you are quite an adventurer and let me congratulate you because you have come very far with this, it really shows the effort you put into it (I know it is not an easy game X (not at all) I find it quite interesting how you narrate everything :) continue with your young warrior adventure.

Elden Ring has been a lot of fun. There's so much to do, tons of cool bosses to fight, and I love the online multiplayer. It's been for the most part a joy to play with friends and strangers.
I'm trying to upload all my best boss-fights and fun multiplayer experiences -- but there's just so many of them haha. Probably need to start putting at least two bosses per post. I've managed to beat the story mode once with almost all the bosses defeated -- I missed a couple Evergaols and the dream dragon Fortisaxx, so there's some spells I did not get. You can play the game up to seven times before the enemies and bosses stop getting stronger so I think I'll speed-run for the loot I missed out, and just level up for PVP now.
