Elden Ring - Boss Fight - General Starscourge Radahn (Maybe 55th Attempt lol, with Screenshots and Video)
General Radahn pictured above and below:
He's a massive guy who learned incredible gravity magic so he could still ride his favorite tiny horse even though he obviously outgrew it ... talk about love.
Here's some quick info on the game:
(Actual post is BELOW this intro info!)
Today's post is about my battle against the infamous General Starscourge Radahn in the South East of Caelid.
(If you don't have time to read the screenshots, be sure to check out the full video at the BOTTOM of the page!)
Weeks earlier I'd exhausted maybe 40+ attempts but could not defeat him, even with the help of allies!
Now after many other battles and much leveling up, it only required around 10 attempts to finally defeat him for a total of around 50+ attempts haha
I found it funny that near the transporter than teleports your Elden Ring character to the General Radahn fight there's huge pool of blood stains from other players
Here I go running into the desert of death where the big general himself is waiting for me.
Despite having leveled up a lot since my last series of attempts, I summon as many nearby cooperators as I can spot.
While dodge-roll is good enough to escape these purple energy cannon attacks from Radahn, I thought it looked cool to Bloodhound Step out of them.
SOLJAR you have been summoned to join the festival against Radahn -- prepare yourself!
I swear these spears only hit you if you're on a horse.
Never mind, somehow riding through the middle of them works too.
Blaidd the Wolf is such a cool-looking character, love his wolf-themed gear.
Haha I guess running straight through them works too -- how weird.
Here I go teleporting through these -- giant magic purple arrows!
The sequence of you and all your cooperators running up the hill to face General Radahn feels pretty epic -- all of us little guys verse the giant floating dude.
It feels only appropriate to use the spell that nearly defeated him in the lore before.
Look how menacing this guy looks with those colossal swords.
His gravity attacks are incredible and this is him fighting while he's losing his mind to scarlet rot due to his fight with the other champion demigod Malenia.
Fighting him means getting thrown around a lot but it feels worth it because you're challenging a pretty tough guy.
Elden Ring is beautiful -- the landscape, the characters, the bosses, and especially the effects from attacks like this gravity special from General Radahn.
I summon our mount Torrent and ride away while the Scarlet Rot effect eats away at Radahn.
You can't see it from this distance but Radahn's on his own little horse too.
At the half-life marker, Radahn flies up into the air like Superman and disappears for a moment.
It's a very ominous feeling as you look up into the sky and wait for him to return.
It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Radahn blasting back into the arena like a goddamn meteor!
After he lands and wipes most of the cooperators out I ride around and attack him, while searching for any last cooperator signs to help out.
Here's Radahn throwing multiple meteors at me.
He knocked me off my horse -- we're in the end game now.
Torrent and I return back to the fold and I eye blast Radahn with Frenzied Burst.
It's very effective but I see one last guy with a flaming sword getting in some good strikes at Radahn's leg ... who is this final cooperator?
Even at the end, seeing this humongous dude ride toward me with his massive swords in the air is super menacing.
He does one last gravity attack to remind me just how powerful he is.
After Radahn's defeat I get his Great Rune and his Remembrance.
To my surprise, a cut scene happens where I watch a rain of stars fall down from the night sky as if serenading General Radahn's demise.
At first there's a little but then the sky is just full of falling stars ...
... So many falling stars that it looks like the hyperspace sequence to space ships in sci-fi movies.
It ends with my character than seeing a giant light fall like an actual meteor somewhere to the west of Caelid.
Whatever it is ... it landed in a huge splash of light so now I got to go see what's in the crater.
I get a message about a new spot on the map and see someone on a hill near a grace site.
Hello mister badass wolf man.
Yeah it was pretty incredible -- wonder why he's the only one here?
What a great shot here, Blaid the Wolf and a moon in the background.
I activate the grace site and know exactly where I'm going next -- following that flash of light!
~
This boss looks huge in size and scary as well.
55th Attempts, really? I can't imagine how much patience you have. Once I tried this game and after trying to defeat the first horse guy, I stopped playing it cause I don't have that much patience and I understood that this game is not in my criteria, not unless I'm a real noob gamer.
But congrats that at last you could defeat this big scary boss.
Thanks! Yeah General Radahn was super tough at around level 75 but I was maybe level 100 here so it was a lot easier, plus I summoned all the cooperators to help me out. Not sure how people beat this guy alone haha.
This is my first Souls/From Software game so there was a lot to learn. Like that Tree Sentinel boss in the beginning of the game -- when I first started I had no idea you didn't have to defeat him right then and there and that you can come back much later to destroy him. I must've tried to beat him a 100 times before I gave up playing for a couple days out of pure frustration and then read online that most people just snuck past him and focused on the much easier enemies nearby lol. The game's not super intuitive -- not a lot of dialog, no quest logs, not a lot of cut scenes. Most of what I know I've picked up from reading other people's posts here on Hive, or watching videos on Tik Tok or Youtube. Luckily, the game's been out for 9 months so I have plenty of material to search through. Not sure how people played this game when it first came out, I would've been completely lost.
Thanks for the reblog! Very much appreciated!
I pass by here, I put your publication in my google favorites list xD it will serve as a guide for sure.🤠🤠
Thanks for reblogging! Very much appreciated! Being saved to your favorites list is a huge compliment! I will do my best to keep up with the Elden Ring posts :) I'm not finished with the game yet but if you have any questions I am happy to do my best to answer them! Thanks again!
good job!
Thanks! It was a lot easier this time around battling Radahn. Makes me wonder how difficult other bosses will be -- like the famous Malenia!
haha. you can do it!
Thanks! Just beat the Godfrey shade and finally got close to the main erdtree lol can't wait to see what kind of fighting is awaiting me up there!
don't sweat it. it will be fun~
Thanks!
What level are you on?
If I had to guess, probably 110 to 120 but I'm not exactly sure. I'm including menu/status screens in later posts to better keep track of that.
