READING ONLINE OR FROM PRINTED BOOKS: WHICH IS BETTER?

From my childhood during my nursery and primary school days there was nothing like Ebooks then all we knew were books, we read from textbooks and from the notes given to us by our teachers. Reading through this means is easy and all what you need is already being compiled in a book. There is little or no need of making research or doing assignments online then...

But the story changed completely when I entered University, I have to make more and more research on a particular course in other to have adequate knowledge on that course. And also some handouts are not well explanatory so there's need to make research to get materials that one can easily relate with.

I will say reading from my phone or reading online can be said to be convenient to some extent because it's mobile, you can easily have access to your books online without having to carry books with you everywhere you go. It's more convenient to use. Moreover am the type that is always with my phone 24/7 so i find it easy to read online and stress free. But you know Ebooks also has it's disadvantages

For instance when you're reading online, it's very easy to get distracted by other things, like notifications from apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, tiktok and so on, this notifications can make you suspend reading to attend to your messages and before you know it time is gone already. It's very easy to get distracted while reading online.

At times the information you get online are not 100% correct or valid. and why is this? anybody can just create a content on a topic and upload it online, and you now without knowing maybe the information is genuine or not, you digest the wrong information. And sometimes when you know the information is not genuine, you'll need to keep searching and searching for a genuine one, and that will take more time already.
Meanwhile if it's printed books or traditional book, it's mostly being properly vetted and edited appropriately before it's being produced or printed out for the public to read.

In addition reading through our phones and gadget for a long time or at night could result to eye problems especially when one is having a direct contact with the light from ones phone. At times I shed tears without anyone beating me because of the direct contact of my phone light into my eyes.

While making use of traditional books would not only make me focused but will allow me to also highlight some important areas for reference purpose. So it becomes very easy to locate the place whenever I pick the book again.

Moreso, I don't know if it's just me but I realise that when I read on paper I tend to digest the information faster and easier than Ebooks. And I'll remember the things I read easily compared to reading Ebooks.

Nevertheless I can't still do without reading online, infact I do it on a daily, I make research online almost at all times. It's part of me. Likewise I also can't do without reading from paper or traditionally because it makes me more focused and with that I'll do whatever I intend to do in time. So, I love the two ways but I prefer printed books to Ebooks.

Thanks for stopping by.
