Hive Power Up Day | Sunday 1 May 2022 | Progress

Growth

My primary growth goal is reaching 100,000 HIVE Power. Progress speeded up a little in March and April, thanks to SPI (@spinvest) starting to pay dividends in HIVE and the LARYNX airdrop. I also decided to sell the UTOPIS I was holding and power up the HIVE. This month I've reached 63,000 Hive Power.

  • LEO - LEO has been good to me. I benefited from an airdrop in the way back when and LEO has been bringing me presents ever since. I've delegated it many times over, invested it and sold it to provide the resources for increasing my portfolio. This year, my secondary growth aim is re-building to 5,000 LEO. CUBLIFE (CL) and LBI (Leo Backed Investment token) both pay dividends in LEO, which are staked and delegated to @meowcurator. This month, I'm at 4,292 LEO Power.

  • SPI - (Socially Pooled Investments) these are managed funds and great for someone like me that has limited time and interest to investigate every opportunity that arises. There are several wallets under the SPI umbrella including gaming. The latest investment is in EMP, with the @spinvest wallet going for token growth, and the @spinvest-leo wallet going for income.

I was asked why SPI are so expensive? Their value has built over time and every SPI is 100% backed by assets including BTC and ETH. They also have a 95% buy-back guarantee. You can buy fractions of SPI from 0.01, and start receiving HIVE income (as well as saving for your future), so they are accessible to even small savers.

Passive Income

I did a little check at the end of March to see the sources of passive and semi-passive income:

  • SPI - Liquid HIVE income
  • EDS - Liquid HIVE income
  • LBI - Liquid LEO income
  • CL - Liquid LEO income
  • DLease to @curie - Liquid HIVE income
  • Delegation to @meowcurator - Liquid LEO income
  • HBD - HBD interest
    Plus
  • Curation - HIVE Power (semi-passive)

Savings

Really enjoying the 20% HBD interest. I had already invested a little windfall to increase my holdings when it was at 12%, so very pleased to see the increase. For me, twenty's plenty 🙂.

Over on the @eddie-earner account, we have nearly thirty registered savers in the Saturday Savers Club which is great to see. Savers set their own goals for their savings; however, the base token for the Savings Club is EDS, an income token. You can buy EDS in the market, or you can buy EDSMs (or fractions of EDSMs) and mine EDS tokens. Income is paid in HIVE every Monday.

I feel that since we moved to HIVE and things began to change, I have lost track of it and am not sure where to start. Hopefully, I can make it to the meetup and someone can educate me 😊

Gosh.. this is a clear example of how someone should allow their money work for them. Keep moving forward. You do have a huge passive income streams, and it's quite enviable. This is a milestone ma'am. Well done. Congratulations.

allow their money to work for them

I read somewhere that millionaires have seven passive incomes streams on average, so I have let that be my guide 😍.

And you read the right thing. I am also trying my best to keep up with the passive income streams. As I earn, I'll push them to work as well. You are a role model you know? 😉

It's not the first time I have been recommended this club.

Only, the first time I heard it, I had been moving 20% of my earned HBD to savings. And so I didn't know how to restructure it so I would be saving through the saving club

Well, now, this recommendation is timely, because I recently moved that HBD to the pHBD-USDC liquidity pool and I'll be starting afresh to save.

I could use the saving club as a way to stay on track. Thanks for the recommendation sir. 💚☺️

Great update, you are covering a lot of bases there. I've added meowcurator to my list too. The LEO income will come in handy. Thanks for the tip.

meowcurator seems to be working very well, I think the return is around 16%, and I'm very happy with that for no work other than staking and delegating once a week.

I try to keep my portfolio quite narrow - I wrote about my criteria in this post.

Good progress. I love that we have so many options to earn. I tend to stick with things I understand, so I may miss out on some opportunities.

Earn and learn 🙂

I tend to stick with things I understand

Yes, me too - especially where I don't have enough time to spend learning about new opportunities. But I guess that's the thing, there are so many opportunities, there is something for everyone, whatever their interest and resources.

@shanibeer i saw some LARYNX token to claim in my 3Speak...
What wallet stores this token? The Hive Engine?

It tells you everything in this post, @luca1777 😍.
You claim them there, and it has its own DEx, if you want to sell LARYNX - the hive appear in your hive wallet.

Thank You @shanibeer . Just claimed them. See them in my 3speak wallet, but the exchange
only takes the keychain to login..? What's the worth of these LARYNX tokens?
Greetings & enjoy the rest of your sunday!😉

Ah, well at least you have them, you can take your time to find out how to sell them! I use keychain, so I'm not sure what the alternatives are.

You may want to keep the LARYNX tokens as you use 3-Speak, I think?

It didn't fit with my criteria for my portfolio. I wrote about how I select tokens in this post.

0

0.000
avatar
  1. The model for the token: what is the long-term project? is there a plan? is it viable?
2.The team behind the token: what is their reputation and experience, how accessible are they?
3.What risks are involved and how are they being managed? is the project sustainable?
4.How transparent and accountable is the project? is there regular reporting?
5.How does the token fit with my own values and plans and attitude to risk?

Would you be willing to say specifically, which one of the factors had the greatest influence on your final decision?

0

It's the combination of thinking about all of them, and especially how the information from the first four fit with number five. I have a look and see what information is there - each token has an information icon next to it, that's where I start - and check whether I can answer the questions to my satisfaction through my research.

Judgement comes into it as well - I may get a sense about a token that I'm holding, a vague idea that there is something I need to check. Plus the environment or how the token is being managed is constantly changing, which may lead me to review what I'm doing.

The other big issue is attitude to risk: I'm not a FOMO person, I'm not chasing 300% APY for two days and then moving my resources elsewhere. I look for things that offer moderate risk (within the context of crypto), reasonable returns and which I can "set and forget". That last is a slight misnomer because I keep a weather eye on things, even if I'm not messing about with them every two minutes.

I take soundings from the community, too, as part of my research. I dip into posts by @taskmaster4450 (also @taskmaster4450le) and @edicted (I don't read every post, I scan the beginning and see if it interests me). If you are interested in this, someone that you might like to follow is @metzli, she writes some accessible posts about investing.

Thanks for the shout-out.

I read the info tab too - but I also look into who the people behind the project are, and how much time they invest into the project.

Too little time is a big red flag.

But too much time spent on the project is also a red flag - if it seems unsustainable.
