A visit to my home town

Visiting my home town after a long time was indeed a nice experience. After taking 2weeks break from work I had to travel down to my home town for a ceremony.
Getting there I discovered there was a festival going on called 'Ogun festival' (Ogun is the god of iron). During this time it is usual for them to decorate the road and even their shrine with palm leafs. During this festival dogs are used as sacrifice and also palm oil.

Movements during this period becomes tight as roads are blocked. Powder can be sprinkled on people to mark the festival. Still this festival is taken to be fun by the young ones. It becomes a carnival where people vibe to music, party on the road and and also take some bottles of beer. This festival is celebrated once every year and people come in from several countries to witness this festival just like the Osun Osogbo festival.

Coming to my home town in Ondo State gave me reasons to go through old stuffs like clothes used a long time ago by my dad and even my grand father. I had to put some on to take pictures with them. They are old but still looks beautiful because they were properly kept.
Thank you for reading through.

Hi @seyipaul2. I see you're new on Hive, so let me drop you a few suggestions to help you navigate better on our platform.

We have different communities on Hive and we're encouraging users to post in the right community based on the topic of the post. This post for example would fit better in Daily Blog community.

OCD is for topics that don't fit in any other community and should be used when you don't find a niche community for your post.

Here's a guide I put together to help you learn about how communities work and why you should use them -> Communities Explained - Newbie Guide.

Once you posted your post in the right community, you can then cross post it to OCD community. Here's a guide about cross posting.

Please don't delete any post with the purpose of reposting it in another community as that can be considered abuse! Leave this post here, you'll get it right next time.
