I am the perfect failure

I never knew what I wanted to be. Occupations all seemed like uncomfortable boxes to me growing up. I knew what I wanted to do though.

I wanted to change the world!

I wanted to make it a free and fun place where people could express themselves freely and be supportive of each other, and not take things too seriously.

It was hard though, and so…

I spent a good 30 years fumbling around, lacking the confidence to pursue a truer version of myself, victimized into blaming others for my own weaknesses, not willing to accept my own responsibility to myself.

I graduated and fell into the easiest work I could find. It was something that should have made a difference and helped people but due to the systematic red tape and low expectations of everyone around me, it became a place to waste 8 hours a day and get paid for it.

It felt awful. Even meaningful work felt meaningless because no one really appreciated the meaningful aspects of it. They just respected the title and assumed that all who had these title of “teacher” were worth some kind of praise, despite the low salary.

I wanted to make art. I wanted to speak up. I wanted to be free. But I was struggling to make rent every month, and too insecure to make anything or say anything. I was too emotionally unstable to get my ideas out in a balanced way that could really reach anyone.

I hated society and was waiting for its collapse.

Now it seems to be collapsing and I realize that the fear that was driving me, keeping me distracted from my dreams and convinced they were impossible, it’s the same fear that fuels all the contradictions in society.

Society isn’t the problem. Society is neutral. People aren’t the problem. There is no problem. The only problem was my focus on the problem and failure to look inside.

I thought I had everything figured out because I recognized societies contradictions better than anyone and I had good ideas about how to fix them.

I was a hypocrite. I thought “if only people did it this way”. And then I failed to do those things and blamed society and other people for my inability.

The fact is, I was suffering. I was deeply wounded. Just as wounded as all the hypocrites who run the world and all the hypocrites who hurt other people.

I may not have done anything in particular to hurt others, but my attitude of “do as I say and not as I do (because I’m broken)” was doing nothing to change anything, and it was keeping me miserable.

At 30 years old I had no money in my bank account and was sleeping on friends couches, feeling sorry for myself with no direction. I just wanted to avoid going back into society because it didn’t seem to have the answer to any problems.

And then one day I just decided not to worry about how fucked up the world was and just focus on myself. I may not be able to succeed at my dreams, but I had to put in a real effort. If I failed and died, it wouldn’t have been much worse than the emotional state I was in, so I just put everything into it.

Old habits die hard and I was far from perfect, but I got to a point where at least I stopped getting stuck in that victimhood mentality. I took full responsibility for my life, even knowing that I could have had a much easier life if other people had done things differently.

I learned the divine feminine: Acceptance. And once I learned that, I had enough internal support to start building up a divine masculine and find balance.

Nowadays I think about my place in the world more casually. Will I change it? Will I just ride the waves? Both are ok to me. But I still ponder what impact I have on others and there are still outcomes that are more preferable.

These days I see myself as a successful failure. I failed so bad and so hard. I failed so bad that I don’t even know how to express it to you in a single post or a single evening.

And I’m ok. And life is ok. Everything is ok.

I want to share that with others. You can fail as much as you want, if you are still breathing, there are things to hope for and dream of and to strive for, and most importantly there are still things to enjoy.

What feels like a failure today may just be a stepping stone to a greater success that you never imagined.

I was so glad when reading this that it didn't turn out to bethen I found crypto post. It's true though, accepting yourself and your failures is the way to find happiness with the world. You have to fail to succeed most of the time

Thanks for this. This might just be what someone needs to go forward. There is more value to success after failing many times.

Sometimes there is no way to success except failure many times. 😝

Failure is not being able to see who you are and not doing anything about it.
Failure is a perception, its a pit stop to learning and a better life.
No one is perfect so why do you expect yourself to be perfect?
If you were perfect your life mission is accomplished.

The mission is never finished. If we achieve our goals to early we will find a new goal. So the only thing to do is enjoy the process.

Perfection as I see is divine and for me that is the end, but then perfection isn't really possible as there is always scope for development, that is where I am coming from..
I am all about the journey and enjoying every moment of it.

Beautiful write up and so much I can relate to! Been there, done that. This could be my biography too haha!

It took me till 35 to figure it out and drag myself out of this. Recently reached the 40, as you know. Onward and upward!

Love the energy and flow of this post, my friend! Keep being the awesome beautifully flawed creature that you are, meanwhile I will do the same!

Don't be surprised when my writing sounds like it's for you buddy. It usually is 😝 I mean it's for me, but we have enough in common that it might as well be.

Glad you came

These days I see myself as a successful failure. I failed so bad and so hard.

I'm yet to meet that person whose story ia not the same as this line. Whoever said it's not, is lying to the world and worse to himself.

One thing I have learned is, for a person to truly move forward, he must tell himself the truth. You know we do that a lot —lie to ourselves and not confront situations the way we should.

I used to blame the world and my circumstances for my failures but when I had that sudden realization that I needed to look inward, search myself, confront myself and above all, tell myself the unwavering truth, I began to make headway.

I'm thankful for how far you have come and yes, better days are ahead. Just don't lose your hope! 😊

I know a whole lot of people like that, yeah. We seem to almost always make the same assessments about people and the human condition :-) Better to fix yourself than blame the world, even if its the worlds fault.

Always gotta make the attempt, then you can at least say you tried ;D

Changing the world actually sounds pretty tough, not surprised you got lost for a bit there as where do you even start with that :) I think you're well on your way now XP
