Hello everyone,

This time I want to introduce one of the yellow-orange flowers.

Kenikir or Cosmos is the intended flower.

This beautiful flower is Asteraceae from the kenikir-kenikir tribe who likes tropical climates. Because I'm an Indonesian, just call it that. And indeed Indonesia is one of the countries with a tropical climate in addition to other tropical countries scattered on this earth.

Kenikir is native to Latin America and Central America but can grow wild in other countries.

He said, this kenikir can be used as fresh vegetables. However, I've never tried it and don't want to try it. But I squeezed it before photographing it out of curiosity about the smell. The smell of the flowers is more or less like the smell of resin.

This kenikir flower is a flower that is arranged at the end of the stem and the axils of the top leaves.

This type of kenikir flower is a red flower with yellow spots in the middle.

In my country this kenikir flower is widely planted in the lowlands and highlands. Usually they plant it in their yard like the flower I photographed in this post. The owner deliberately planted in the garden of the house to beautify his home garden with contrasting colors so as to give the impression of being cheerful and spoiled.

Regarding planting, like most other plants that can be propagated by seeds.

But it's a bit of a shame, even though this beautiful plant is resistant to heat, in the rainy season it is very easy to be attacked by fungal pests that can cause death.

Here are some more pictures, to pamper the day!
