Beer Tasting: Triglav Triumph Ale and Kwaremont Blond

avatar

Hello, beer lovers! 🍻

Is there anything new with you? There is nothing special here. We survived Labour Day, but the weather is rubbish. It's mostly raining, and the sun comes out for an hour or so, and then it rains again, and so on.
The only news I read on Hive today is that the 9th Hive Fest will be in September, in Croatia, in Split. That's great, I'll probably be there :)
Now on to 357 #beersaturday!

Two bottles are chilling in my fridge, one Slovenian and one Belgian. I will happily empty them and describe them to all the fans. 😜

First, the one with less alcohol.

🍻 😎 🍻

Triglav Triumph Ale

Brewed by Pivovarna Vizir, Črnomelj, Slovenia, for the Eurospin retail chain.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 4.9% ABV, IBU N/A.
It's Pale Ale style, hoppier than malty, bitter but with more malt balance than IPAs.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Triglav, the god of harmony, found inspiration in the simplicity and balance of Pale Ale. In this golden elixir, a divine balance is achieved between the sweetness of malt and the bitterness of hops and a symphony of flavors that dance on your taste buds. Art and harmony combine in every drop.

🍻

This is the last one I have from a trilogy of Old Slavic gods - Svarun Solar IPA, Morana Midnight Stout, and Triglav Triumph Ale, which is on the table right now :)

The beer is light golden, and the head is average. I smell a discreet hop aroma. A sip goes down the throat smoothly. I taste hop bitterness in the mouth, but it's not very pronounced. There is also a faint malty sweetness and hints of grass and herbs.
In the aftertaste, everything disappears quickly except the weak bitterness.

I think it's a drinkable beer, a classic and balanced English Pale Ale without any special features. Since it's locally available and the price is reasonable (€1.69), it might even park in my fridge.

🍻 😎 🍻

Again, I haven't found any new beer meme to present, but don't worry, my dear beer brothers and sisters.
I have a couple of photos that deserve to be posted, and I think I got an excellent, perfect picture of a rainbow.
Even though it's already May, the weather here is just like April: bright sunshine, rain, and sunshine again, and so on. And rainbows show up here when it rains like that in the sunshine.

The rainbow photo was taken through the window. Below is part of the orchard, which I need to cut again when it dries out a bit, and above is a beautiful (at least I think so) rainbow.
They say there is a treasure at the end of the rainbow. Well, I didn't manage to find it :)

Let's move on!

🍻 😎 🍻

Kwaremont Blond

Brewed by De Brabandere, Harelbeke, West Flanders, Belgium.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 6.6% ABV, IBU 25.
It's a Belgian Blond or Gold Ale style beer with a malty, sweet flavor, subtly spicy and fruity Belgian yeast, and a bitter, hoppy finish.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Kwaremont is a beer brewed for leaders. But especially for everyone who loves cycling. The beer of ambition. Of passion that just keeps on going – even into a head wind. Kwaremont is the beer of the genuine enthusiast. This full malt beer delivers that jolt of liquid sugar you crave after pedalling your heart out. What’s in it for you? A distinctive, thirst-quenching finish with 6.6% of alcohol content to match the steepest of inclines.

🍻

I cycle from time to time. And, of course, after that, a glass of cold and refreshing beer is the best way to go.

The beer is amber in color, with an average head. It smells malty. A sip goes down the throat smoothly. I taste quite a solid malt sweetness and caramel, fruity notes of peach and vanilla, and alcohol.
In the aftertaste, it all disappears quickly, and a pretty solid hop bitterness lasts for a while.

The beer is drinkable, of course. But I'm not sure I'd drink it after a bike ride or a run. I find it too strong for anything like that; I'd rather have a lager.
Maybe one or two in the evening, but at home because you can't drive a car or ride a bike with that much alcohol in you :)
It's currently available locally at Lidl for €1.75, still a bargain. Maybe it will even end up in my fridge.

🍻 😎 🍻

And what am I listening to as I write this and taste the beer? Something from yesterday's #newtunes post.

I like a good Belgian beer that one sounds more appealing to me personally. I like them malty.

Nice rainbow 🌈 👌

It didn’t rain on Labor Day here but it was just so dry…
I love the colors of those beers
Look so good

But here, it's dynamic. A few hours of sun, a few hours of rain, and so on... it's hard to do anything in the fields because everything is muddy.

How beautiful they look in those glasses. The label on the first one is phenomenal. Looks like we were going to drink something from another century. Regards @seckorama
