This Morning's Sunrise Above Genoa, Nevada

It was a beautiful one! The 2:45 am alarm clock was worth it. I tried stopping at Lake Tahoe on my way to Genoa, Nevada as there was some possible Aurora Borealis lights forecasted for our area. But nope, I didn't see anything so I packed the gear back up and headed down to Genoa, a small Nevada town just outside of the Tahoe basin. I am now selling prints out of the new Genoa Gallery so I am trying to get some more local photos for them.

Success! There weren't any clouds in the sky when I first arrived and I was concerned. However, just before sunrise, clouds started forming and it ended up being an incredible one.

Here is my favorite "keeper" photo from this morning's shoot. Just one for now but I have a few more I'll be working on soon...

Shot on a Canon 5DS R with a 24-105mm lens set at 28mm. The ISO was 50, the aperture was f/10, and it was a 4 second exposure. A tripod was used and two graduated neutral density filters were used on the front of the lens.

Thank you for looking. Have a Happy Halloween today!!!

Beautiful views the one thing I love about west over east is how untouched most of the land is and how beautiful it really is. I think I'll be moving out that way some time soon!

I love it out here but I haven't spent enough time out east. Can't personally compare it. I need to travel out that way soon! Cheers!
