Prosser Creek Walk With Quill

It was a beautiful day today, so I took Quill dog and the camera out for a snowshoe hike to nearby Prosser Creek, in Truckee, California. It's been a few days since it's snowed, so what snow was on the ground is starting to get a little more dense and firm which makes it easier for Quill and I to get around.

There were other people out there enjoying the snow and beautiful scenery, but not many. This cross country skier made for a nice subject matter.

Prosser Creek was looking magical with the bright white snow and ice along the edge. Quill just had to go in, but he didn't last very long. Brrr.

It was a fun snowshoe hike. Great exercise for both of us. And I ended up with a few keeper photos for the website!

"Quill!" I was trying to take a cool little video of the icicle and dog, but yeah...

Thank you for looking and I hope you all are having a great day!

I saw Quill and I saw the skier and I thought he's going in lol Nice shots. We haven't been out on snow shoes yet.

He almost did... but all he would have done was annoy the guy with wanting pets. It was the perfect density of snow for snowshoes here today. Hopefully you'll get a bit more soon.

Going around snowy trails is more interesting when we've got a companion like Quill ! It really looks very beautiful out there.

Wow, some amazing snowy shots here, and what a cute dog! . I love that gif to hehehehe . At Christmas time just past I became fascinated with the paintings of the victorian era landscape painter Joseph Farquharson . He was a Scottish artist mostly known for his depiction of snowy landscapes and the way he captured light. I need to get out into the Scottish highlands soon and take some snowy shots of my own and try and turn them into paintings like this.

Thank you! That's a beautiful painting. Yes, the light can be magical when we get that reflective snow on the ground. Good luck with your painting goals. Cheers!
