Fun Photoshoot For MVB Coaching

I was recently hired to shoot some new marketing photos for Martin of MVB Coaching here in Truckee, California. Martin trains athletes, and he specializes in helping cross country skiers and marathon runners achieve their goals. You don't have to be a competitive professional athlete to benefit from Martin's programs, he has many different program tiers and options available and he even offers virtual consultations so he can help anybody around the world who is looking for a great training program. It was a fun, low pressure photoshoot. Although it was quite hot out, we got lucky and the smoke from the nearby Mosquito Fire wasn't blowing our direction that morning. Martin had some locations in mind, they worked out perfect, he is happy with the photos, and he now has some new images for his website, blog, and social media.

We have tons of trails around the area. Here's Martin running along the Truckee River on a beautiful lesser used trail.

Skate ski! We also have lots of paved trails around our area. Who needs snow to train for a cross country ski race when you can train with skate skis!

There were many more "keeper" images and Martin should have a bit of content to work with for now. And I'm feeling inspired to get out there and run!!! Ok, I'll be honest, I'll probably just take Quill dog for a walk... But hey, according to his blog, that's good too: Blog post about walking

These were all shot with a Canon 5DS R and a 24-105mm lens. The settings varied, it's important to have higher shutter speeds when shooting actions images like these. I tried to shoot some with the shutter speed at 1/200 of a second so I could use my flash (as fill-flash) but that was a bit too slow for the movement and Martin was not tack sharp in most of those images. 1/500 of a second worked much better.
