Omni Social App - The Blockchain Competitor to Tiktok?
Came across this soon to be launched app called Omni. There tag line is it's not just an app, it's a mega-app!
Well, I do hope it lives up to that billing because I joined the wait list to make sure I got the scaredycatguide user name locked in.

It looks like it a video based app sort of like tiktok, which honestly is a great idea to replicate on the blockchain.
It does look like it is much more than that as it will allow for chat and other features.
I do hope it has success. They have their roadmap, white paper and other docs available on the site.
Taking a look through the roadmap they have checked off alot of the items as planned with 2020 and 2021 offering consistent progress. When looking at the plan there is still alot in store for 2021 and into 2020.
I look forward to getting my access when the actual app goes live.

There really seems to be more Decentralised Social media dapps coming into rotation. I wonder how many will remain and how many will just fall apart.
I find that many don't boom overnight and then everyone walks away from them. It takes 3 years for any business to become profitable.
After 5 years is when you look at expansion.
I wonder how this will track

Exactly, but there will always been enough players coming in that someone will make it. Just like with internet companies in the 90s.

Thats true. There's a video streaming on that started up but it might be dead now because I think it was in China. I have an account but been a while since I been on and I can't remember
Anything seems better than TikTok
I have heard the apps but I have never tried yet.
Well i do like the idea of the referral program. I'm not holding my breathe on this decentralized social media apps anymore. They have too much working against them. These tiktoks and whatevers are based on freemium services. Decentralized social media apps can't really be that unless they piggybacking off someone else. So i just don't really see them ever being very competitive. This project will probably not be talked about a few months after they launch lol.
