Hello Everyone,

Creating content is something that has been around for a really long time now ,the mediums using you can portray your creations too have been constantly evolving as well as the platforms which give you that opportunity have been growing every single day. This entire space of content creation has seen immense evolution in almost each and every aspect.

The professionalism that people have to be thinking of in the modern times is not something every single person can actually deal with so to make sure that all of it is fair among creators there are quite a few regulations or basic fundamentals that one has to be following regardless of the type of content they create or the platform they use for their content to be posted as well.

If we talk about hive in specific which itself is a different platform at a glance among the rest of that are up on offer but at the end of the day it too is a platform to share your creations and people do engage with it, so therefore it too has certain rules and regulations that one has to keep in mind. A big problem with people who create content is them being unaware of these kind of regulations that they do exist, although with time they learn about them but mostly in the hard way.

So in this blog I will be discussing some very simple tips that you can keep in mind when you're just starting off your content writing/creation journey here on HIVE.

Always use plagiarism checkers before posting your blog.

The web is full of content, every single second tons of data is being uploaded to the web and there is a slight chance that the blog you wrote might have a certain amount of similarity with something that is already available on the internet. This actually is not plagiarising someone's content but it can be said by someone that you plagiarised the content you posted.

So to keep that issue at bay you can simply go to your browser and look for some online plagiarism checkers, which are basically built for this task to find content similar to yours. You can use this website for checking plagiarism.

Always mention sources if you used content from the web

In a number of occasions we need to be taking certain types of data from the web like some facts or details about the topic we are writing the blog upon as well as we also do require to use photographs that are available online too.

In all those cases we should make sure that we declare the source of that particular thing, for that all you need to do is just grab the link of the webpage and mention it below the image or use hyperlink markdown to embed the link in the photo or the text.

It can be done as follows -
[TEXT](link of the webpage)

Always try to mention the source of images even if they say they are free to use or copyright free. To be on the safe side mentioning the source always is a very good option in every type of data/media you take from the web that is not yours.

Refrain From tagging whales

It is a very common practice of tagging whales within the blogs for no reason which is a very bad practice. Not only it looks bad but also invites undue attention. I'll put it very bluntly, if you're here just to grab some upvotes then you will not get much ahead, rather if you really want attention you can try joining communities and start making friends to learn from them which will help you grow. There are numerous communities on the HIVE blockchain which is the beauty of it as everyone is there to support you can help you grow in a positive way.

Use appropriate tags

Tags are a very important aspect of blogging, here on HIVE there are tags which are having different types of functions like there are tags using which will enable your post to be able to get reward in certain HIVE engine tokens, for example neoxian , palnet etc.

Whereas on the other hand what many newbies do end up doing is spamming a certain communities' tag under there posts which has some big voting power in the blockchain. We must refrain from doing such activities as it portrays a bad image and not only that but also doesn't let tags serve the purpose they have which is for SEO sake of the post you create.

Make sure to use only the tags which are relevant to the blog that you've written. Alternatively, you can use a community tag that posts your blog in a particular community as well.

Ensure that you create a decent quality post

Quality is obviously pretty subjective for sure but there are certain aspect which do set the parameters for everyone at quite the same level too, seeing which one can tell that yeah this blog seems to be written with good amount of hard work rather than just for the sake of writing it.

For starters you can keep the following pointers in mind -

~ Try to write blogs with at least 500 words or more.

For doing so you can always write about things that you're pretty much aware of, like some local stuff of yours or even about your workplace, the work you do, the thing you're studying etc. It can be anything, but depends upon you which one you can write upon. Choosing something close to you will allow you to give in more detail and hence the originality would be highlighted in it as well as the words too would be in big quantity.

~ Try Posting Original Pictures

Photographs do give blogs a whole lot of clarity and it also becomes very interesting for the reader too as what they rather had to visualize is already present for them some it becomes easier for them to connect with the content too. If you're not comfortable with sharing your photos then you can use photos that matches the theme of your blog and that is completely fine as well.

Bottomline is that you should make sure you know about what you're writing which will basically allow you to write more as well as it will ensure that the stuff you've written is original too and won't look like something done hastily.

Make sure you do not onboard people without explaining them the rules

Onboarding people onto the HIVE blockchain is a very good aspect that everyone can contribute for as HIVE does serves as a first step for people into the Crypto verse, I myself came to know about crypto when I joined here at the age of 16.

But at the same time we must make sure we teach them the very basics too like that of plagiarising, source mentioning and all the fundamentals as bringing someone on is a good step but after that their actions can prove to have negative impact on you so it is better to have taught them well in advance to avoid such issues.

Keep your keys safely

The keys that HIVE wallet has is pretty different from the passwords we are used to using normally. When we creat an account on HIVE we do get a number of keys all of which do have a different operation. But there is one master password which is the main key.

In case we forget one of the keys we must have the master password to get a new set of keys for the account. So to keep the keys safe and sound it is advised to keep a hardcopy of the keys either in printed form or even in handwritten form, but make sure you do have a solid backup for them as it is very important to keep them safely backed up.

An additionally aspect is to keep your devices locked and secure too if you use apps like Hivechain and have your account logged in, you should keep it pretty safely as well with basic sense like not giving your phone to kids or leaving it in an unlocked state without attention somewhere too.

There are a lot more things that someone posting on HIVE must keep in mind but for someone who is just starting off these tips are really good to have and can help you pave your way ahead, moreover the more you travel in the HIVE journey of yours you will gain more and more insights about how it all should be like.

I would also like to thank @sayee for inspiring me to write this post with her discussion on the same topic and stressing the importance of awareness of these basic fundamentals among people.

Additionally, feel free to add more points in the comment sections, it all will add value to the entire awareness cause.
