Galaga Review – Let’s end the insects invasion
(Edited)
After the successful Galaxian, Namco prepared a new sequel for the alien-killing shooter that not only manage to reach the same achievement, but actually surpassed it in various aspects, including graphics, music and above all, gameplay. I’m talking about Galaga.
This title was a hit during the era of the Arcades; it was not surprising then that it was also later released on almost every home console of the time, with the NES version being a perfect adaptation of its coin based counterpart.
When it comes to the gameplay, Galaga has various elements that make it stand out from its prequel and many others Shoot’em Up, like for example: Space Invaders. One of them is the way the enemies attack, they don’t make a perpetual formation and shoot at you, and instead they throw themselves at you like kamikazes, while at the same time, others fire projectiles at you.
Certain aspects like the twin shoots of the space ship, the bonus scenes, and the insects that group together, make this game an exciting experience that no fan of videogames can ignore without trying it.
In conclusion, this classic treasure is very worth it. Even though it is very easy to play, to master it and survive is not as simple as it seems. Like many games of the time, this Shoot’em up has no ending; it’s all about continuing and accumulating the biggest score, so it’s always a challenge.
Anyway, that’s all people, now I would like to know: what do you guys think? 😎

I remember playing Galaga via a Namco Arcade disc 50 year anniversary for the Playstation 2. It featured many classic arcade games and was something I would enjoy playing in the summer when it was too hot outside.
Thanks for sharing the photos and some history of the beloved game.
That's cool, I didn't know about that arcade compilation released for PS2.
Thank you for stopping by!
Man, Galaga was one of the video games where I competed with my cousins, we always played to see who could accumulate the most points, the adrenaline at that time gave you an incredible feeling
Yeah, the game offers an entertaining challenge. It is really fun to try over and over to see how far you can go.
