THE Minimalist Gardening practices
Few decades back, people were very minimalist and were producing everything organic
In my several years of gardening experience I always wondered, what works best for the growth of plant, with desired results and Jeevamrutha has been the most effective fertilizer that needs very minimum cost and effort. This flower was the biggest of this year, in fact biggest flower of my entire gardening experience, and it was possible only because of Jeevamrutha, a natural organic fertilizer that was being used for centuries, before the chemical gang took over.
I have kept two buckets reserved to prepare the Jeevamrutha, and even though many times it failed, this year, it grew nicely. And the fun fact is that, I have chosen this place because we have so many kids in our society, some of them are continuously in hunt of exploring stuffs around. This place is full of abandoned cycles - I only brought all of them and kept here, to have some space to park our two-wheeler. So the kids don't like this place and don't come here, otherwise you know what stupid kids will do !!
And the raw materials - fresh cow dung , urine, jaggery and flour - mix the cow dung in water thoroughly and then mix the jaggery and flour (besan), separately, 100 - 150 gm each in water and add to the manure. Then add the cow urine and water until the bucket gets filled, leaving some space, gently stir them using a stick ( yes, I have the full set up), and cover and keep in a cool place. And based on how first it ferments, we need to go and stir them once or twice.
Day 2 ( 36 hours) the fermentation was still going on.
And after 48 hours, I observed the fermentation is getting weak, so I removed the upper cake and took it to the garden.
Two buckets of Jeevamrutha served our entire garden ( mine as well as all plants of society) as 7-10 times water was added to dilute them, before giving it to plants. If you give it directly, it will burn the plants.
And you will see the magic result within a week - this year, a dying plant survived after I applied this and growing nicely. I wished later, I should have captured a photograph prior to show you. Thankfully, I don't need to go anywhere to get the cow manure and urine - the guy who supplies milk at home does me the favor of bringing them - I just need to make sure, jaggery and flour is available at home and of course my time, because the manure need to be fresh and used asap so that those microbes / bacteria are alive to grow. Another important observation from several failures is that, the cow must be eating green grass for better results. That's the reason, I don't try it in summer, because, they are fed dry grass, that these people preserve from harvests in Winter. And lastly, some people feel its a prestige issue doing all these - but does a gardener get embarrassed ?
This post is in response to the KISS BLOG IDEAS: WEEK 151 to describe gardening minimalist practices - there will be a time in future when you will have to grow your own food, if you have to stay healthy and fit - may be in just few decades.

Had to google what jaggery is but I knew it was something raw and organic, just like the rest of this 100% natural fertilizer :) Good job! I´m sure all your plants will love it :)

They grow 3-5x fast.
I'll have to try this one, or a version of it. I can understand how the flour protein and sugar would help feed the bacteria and make a potent fertiliser indeed!
You got it right, its like developing bacteria and they do magic to the plants.
In the past, people tended to embrace a more minimalist approach, but times have changed. Nowadays, individuals seek faster results and often rely on commercial fertilizers to achieve higher yields. While we cannot control their choices, as they have their reasons for opting for this method, we can still promote organic practices for personal consumption by making our own fertilizers.
Wow. Am just hearing of this method of fertilizer, I only know if using cow dung directly. This is really good, we do learn everyday
Wao good idea..
First time in my life I am hearing about this kind of home made fertiliser Jeevamrutha. It is quite interesting. How it worked sir?
Much better than any other fertilizer. If it was possible to make it all the time, then I would do that.
The fertilizer is so organic. I just buy a ready made one, add some water to it. The ones you make yourself is more natural !
Hello dear friend @sanjeevm good day
I must admit that I had never heard of this preparation for use in the garden before, I appreciate you letting us know the ingredients, you are very kind
Have a great day
Sounds like a pretty smelly job, but the results can't be argued with!
Yes, amazing output.
My grandparents used cow manure to fertilize the field before farming, it always had good results
Your mixture might even work better!
It is the best organic fertilizer it works better than chemical fertilizer

Excellent organic fertilizer friend to be able to get the biggest flowers in your garden
Friend, how long does it take to perform #Jeevamrutha days, months, and I already read that it is very powerful and must be diluted a little in water, but exactly how much water is needed to achieve the desired state.
2-3 days
I heard this method works as the best fertilizer and even works faster
It’s a good one
What a good way to make a fertilizer
Thanks for sharing this
A question friend about not getting some fresh material (cow dung) can you use a dry one or it is mandatory that it has to be fresh for the fertilizer to work well #Jeevamrutha
It has to be fresh, we are growing bacteria.
I understood friend so that the bacteria present there can do their job
We're using cow manure too. We just pick them along the fields where they usually stay.
This is more effective, people use dry cow manure as well.
Beautiful flowers!.. like big, orange pom poms! :)
yes, organic is the way!
Wow, nice organic fertilizer
