Sabrina's birthday weekend: a party with the free & the not so free

We celebrated Sabrina's birthday weekend recently and enjoyed being able to attend an illegal free party in the woods on Saturday night and a lunch party with her mother the day after. Both were enjoyable in their own way but I couldn't help but observe how one group seemed completely free from the cunning pitfalls of modern life and much more interested in nurturing the minds of their children, while the other group despite their luxurious surroundings and belief system which tells them they are free, are in fact just prisoners to their homes & slaves to a broken system.

The Forest Party

First up we attended the land of the free, an isolated forest with a river running through it, inhabited by people who have intentionally separated themselves from modern life. Society calls them gypsies, hippies, drifters or even the homeless, but with no permanent home in truth these people are more free than the rest of us and much more likely to survive the testing decades we have ahead.

Upon arrival the first thing we found was an event organised specifically for the children, some kind of pantomime game which involved all of them. So this is where they played for the first hour with a few selected adults looking after them.

GOPR2693.JPG

After the game we found this huge net in the trees and the kids continued to play and interact with the other children.

GOPR2704.JPG

Here is Esteban getting used to the feeling of a net under his feet.

GOPR2706.JPG

The bar and adults can be seen just off in the distance, not too far from their children.

GOPR2707.JPG

Later there was even a magician who was extremely funny and pretty good at juggling too. Beneath you can see Esteban & Luna enjoying the show with their bare feet.

GOPR2710.JPG

Once it was dark the music began and the adults had their time to party. I don't have any photos to show you from this bit but I think you can imagine how amazing it was to be dancing barefoot to a live band in the middle of a forest at night surrounded by enlightened souls, albeit a little bit wasted ;)

There was no fear of maintaining correct social distance and not a mask in sight the entire day. And it goes without saying none of these people were vaccinated. Interesting also to note how much of the focus was on creating fun for children. As far as I could tell, daylight hours were for food, drink & nurturing young minds and only once it was dark with the youngest tucked away sleeping in their tents did the adults get their moment to do what they came here to do. To dance their arses off!

I didn't speak to many people but felt very at home here and as always I am super grateful for an experience like this which I can incorporate into my manifesting process, the ever-expanding dream of my future. The more specific we can be in our vision the more specific the Universe will be in its delivery.

The House Party

The following day our hangovers were solved with a little watermelon before cracking into the champagne upon arriving at Sabrina's mother's house, shortly before lunchtime (which in this country can last the entire afternoon). Her step-father has for the last few months been decking the area around their pool with a varnished wood, making it look quite lovely.

IMG_5944.jpg

A private paradise one might say. And while it is of course a great place for children to play, unlike the party in the woods there was no interaction from the adults. Children were just left to their own devices and instructed not to be too loud.

IMG_5954.jpg

Here you can see a posing Esteban and their house in the background.

IMG_5958.jpg

Hidden behind the pool under the shade of two trees is the adult's playground.

IMG_5950.jpg

An outside kitchen and dining area.

IMG_5948.jpg

Sabrina's step-dad working hard here to prepare the food for everyone.

IMG_5965.jpg

He built this entire place from scratch. Certainly no small achievement and I commend him as a builder of straight lines, but I would argue his time would have been better spent building something more in harmony with its surroundings, less dependent on government provided utilities such as water & electricity which we will not be able to rely on in the future. A large area dedicated to food production would have been useful too!

Something else I have noticed about him is that even though his house was finished when I arrived here five years ago he never stops finding new things to do. The wooden decking is in fact replacing a previously finished surface which he decided he didn't like. And trust me, once this is done he will find something else to change, because he is addicted to this now and feels deeply uncomfortable when there is nothing to do. Like so many people who have spent their lives working, he does not have any creative or spiritual practices and really doesn't even know who he is. How will he feel I wonder when his body no longer permits him to stay busy in the way to which he is accustomed? And so, unlike the forest people, he is a prisoner to his home and slave to a broken system because he still believes his government has his best interests at heart and like everyone else in our village, he is fully vaccinated and willing to take as many more jabs as he is told.

Anyway, happy days! And back to my sublime little monkeys who are content with luxury or indeed nothing more than a muddy forest to run around in. Either way it makes no difference to them because they don't need external stuff to enjoy their lives, only their innate sense of adventure and desire to continually keep having fun.

IMG_5968.jpg

Sabrina wanted her cake to say "Eat your 38 years" and so it was.

IMG_5978.jpg

It was good to see her enjoying herself.

IMG_5980.jpg

Surrounded by people who love her.

IMG_5999.jpg

This is what Esteban made for her. A little bracelet with shells.

IMG_6015.jpg

Luna knows how to write her own name now, so made an abstract collage to go with it.

IMG_6022.jpg

I just promised her anything she could dream of and she seemed happy with this ;)

IMG_6041.jpg

In fact I am going to buy her a laptop and she is going to learn crypto. She has been putting this off quite long enough! Crypto is the money of the future and if you are not now learning how it all works, you will be left behind. And in no situation do I recommend having someone else look after 'all that stuff' for you. Unless you're looking after it for your mother of course ;)

Finally here are the offspring eating cake & yoghurt!

IMG_6051.jpg

In other news my 30L of wine has moved from the plastic containers to glass ones where they can be filled to the brim, eliminating excess air. Here they will stay for the next few months before racking off the bottom layer.

IMG_5903.jpg

We have been busy collecting walnuts & acorns recently. Ah yes, and wine bottles!

IMG_0062.jpg

I will tell you about acorns in another post. Too much amazing info to fit here.

Inspired by the forest magician Esteban pulled out his magic set last night and started doing tricks on everyone.

IMG_0064.jpg

And here is your card!

image.png

Those apples under the table are destined to become cider, my next project. When I am done, I will begin collecting olives. The few I made last year tasted magnificent so I intend to make a lot more this time around, filling one of those 30L buckets to the brim. Much like the blackberries, figs, walnuts, hazelnuts, chestnuts & acorns, they grow everywhere and no one picks them. Except that mad english guy with no shoes ;)

As always my friends, please know that you are welcome to join us here on the French side of the Pyrenees mountains where we will remain free no matter what is happening in the world. Just drop me a line at harmonicfuture44@protonmail if you want to chat privately.

Love & Light everyone 🌱

Thanks for sharing your experiences and observations, Sam! Interesting stuff and good to hear your thoughts on it. I agree with you as usual.
Glad you had fun! That's a cute last photo : )
I agree with you about crypto, which is why I'm so sad and frustrated I can't figure it out. I've been helping others get involved since 2011 (6 years before most of the world first heard of it) but myself can't do it. So much of crypto now requires smart devices and/or bank accounts, something I've decided to never touch. I've been trying for years to use crypto without those things, in a private and decentralized way, as crypto was always supposed to be. But I haven't found a good way to make it happen. For example, I recently decided to get myself some Ivermectin. It's all over the place, cheap, being produced by the ton, etc. And you can buy heroin on the internet. So I figured Ivermectin, which isn't illegal, should be no problem. And I've got crypto as well as fiat payment options. But still, can't find anyone to accept crypto for Ivermectin. Shouldn't be so hard, but here I am, with money in hand, and no pills that could potentially save my life.
Anyway just wanted to say your first paragraph was perfect. Great summary. Thank you for posting.

I sympathise with your situation because I couldn't survive the way I am currently surviving without the Revolut account I set up for Sabrina, which by the way really wasn't complicated at all. You can also hold a few cryptos on Revolut and convert to fiat easily. The catch however is that they don't let you remove the crypto from their platform. And obviously, someone has to give away their personal details.

As for smart devices I begrudgingly bought one recently, exclusively for crypto related posting & activities. As you say, we can't get around it at the moment. Crazy to hear your Ivermectin story. In the end I suppose it boils down not to what you know but who. So, if you have a friend who is willing to buy them and they are interested to get into crypto, there's your exchange. Tomorrow morning I am meeting with a lady in the village for exactly this purpose. She wants bitcoin and I want her home grown green! The exchange is simple and as time goes on more and more people are interested to get into crypto. And of course, it doesn't hurt to give them a little nudge from time to time. Pretty much everyone wants crypto deep down but they have fears which we must first help them eliminate. It helps also to explain to them how the exchange rate will be much better if they buy from you. And it will be way less complicated! Back in Bali it was the same way. If I needed cash I would offer the people in the community the chance to buy bitcoin and almost always someone would bite. I even paid my rent in crypto for two years. But this was only possible because I put a fair bit of time into educating & getting people excited. A lot easier while the price is going up I will concede! But where there is a will there is a way...

Hey cuddlekitten. My baby cat is looking at you (from my lap) and seems very interested in your cute face! My rewards for you are still being unfairly removed by @themarkymark. It's funny how people that attack "spammers" ultimately become a kind of spammer themselves. I will try once more with a smaller reward to see if this appeases him.

This summarizes it all. I see it over and over again in the free roaming ( often home schooled ) kids from my twin sister, friends and acquaintainces here in Portugal.

If we could all just go back to being these playful kids, the world would be...

This was an awesome post to catch up on your life. I have gone through a pretty similar situation ( in the last weeks ), when I visited ( my family in ) The Netherlands. I can easily relate.

Happy belated Birthday to Sabrina! I will reach the big 4 0 on Sunday ;<)

Much love,

Vincent

Hey Vincent:) Happy birthday for Sunday! I trust it was an enjoyable one. Welcome to your 40s. They will be even better than your 30s!

Yes, to be playful children forever is not a bad goal really. Always reminding ourselves that the physical stuff is only temporary. I am lucky in many ways to have had the experience of leaving the UK with very little money or possessions. These things were not needed to lead me on my journey to Thailand where I sat down on a bus next to Sabrina.

And as for the white picket fence illusion of success & happiness, I suppose many of us fall for this goal. I know I did, prior to my UK departure. I even carried a picture in my wallet for years, showing my perfect man cave, with big projector screens, big speakers, X-box, fully stocked bar etc. Man, how times have changed! Fully stocked with nuts these days. Am cracking hazelnuts currently, making nutella ;)

I recently had the pleasure of reading and responding to a lovely email from @yangyanje who felt like reaching out to me. I smiled when he mentioned your name as one of the few other people he has revealed his identity to. There is something inexplicable which does seem to pull a small group of us together. How powerful we would be if we all lived in the same forest!

Big love to you brother.

Dreaming of that forest...

Now that is abundance to me!

I got a jar of homemade almond-hazelnut butter from a friend, for my birthday. It tastes amazing and the texture is great too!

Keep dreaming of that forest. Meanwhile I keep dreaming of my perfect world too!

Um abraço

@samstonehill, sorry to see you have less Hive Power.

Labels are not interesting to me and as the only person with the power to power down, this message seems rather pointless. But since you brought it up, I trade HIVE on binance to increase what I have. There was a great swing trade opportunity just last week in fact. Sell high, buy low and repeat. Do I get a badge for that?

That would be a good idea to create a badge for smart traders.
Unfortunately, we can't track those who trade off-chain.
