My Heart Bleeds for Nigeria: Bloody Tuesday

I read the post of @salvadornkpara today and it reminded me of the bloody Tuesday last October. It wasn't long they eased the long down placed on some states in Nigeria, most especially Lagos state, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and it's spread in Nigeria. We were at home that day when we heard in the local and international news that Lekki was on fire and that many innocent protesters were killed. It was so shocking to here, the whole nation bleed for the lost of youths (the leaders of tomorrow).

Oh Nigeria what do we Expect Next

The protest was about the incessant Police brutality across Nigeria and the attitude of leaders towards infrastructural development. The Protest started in Lagos, Nigeria and proliferated to other states like Port Harcourt, Akwa Ibom and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). With support from the International communities and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). The peaceful protesters continued there business until this day 20-10-2020, also known as Bloody Tuesday

The Remembrance Day

Today is actually a year since the incidence happened. It'll be very wrong for Nigerians to forget this day, because of the innocent citizens that lost their lives. Mother's of the deceased will remember and a fresh wound will be opened in their lives. I hear family members telling their relations that it's one year already. If I was the president of Nigeria, I would declared today as public holiday or remembrance day for the Heroes that left us.
