Helping the World Battle Terrorism through Educating the Child: Educating the Almajiri Children in Northern Nigeria

My last post on Encouraging the Less Privileged Children through Homeschool was not just for people in Southern Nigeria, but the entire Nigeria. Although the aim of extending it to the Hausa/Fulani dominated North is due to the serious and constant recruitment of little children as well as school dropouts in Northern into terrorism associated with the Boko Haram sect. Who is an Almajiri Child
Almajiri simply means 'disciple' in Hausa language. They're Muslim children who are roaming the streets begging for alms in order to survive. You could imagine the level of hardship and the state of insecurity and terrorism in Nigeria. They're the easiest targets for recruitment into the Boko Haram terrorists group.

These children are always holding a bowl 🥣🥣 in their hands waiting for food to eat. In such a situation, it's very easy to give them some money or make a little promise to them concerning their livelihood and they're yours for ever. When they grow up and become adults, they're usually the radical fundamentalist among the Muslims. Almajiri's are usually sent to Arabic schools that are not really helpful to gain employment in Nigeria and other parts of the world. These children are abandoned by their parents and in turn they'll become a menace to the society.

Just Imagine the Conditions of These Children During the Covid-19 Pandemic
There was serious hardship for families during the covid-19 period last year. Imagine the suffering meted on these children who are citizens of Nigeria. This can be an avenue to avail themselves for recruitment into the Hoko Haram terrorists group. A hungry child could do anything to survive.

Mission Averting The Recruitment of Almajiri into Terrorism through Education
This is one of the most difficult task I've placed myself and my team to do. This is because the terrorists group might have the financial capabilities than us, but putting faith what we do matters alot.

• The first thing to do is to introduce my team to learning the arabic language and the Hausa language. Am previleged to know how to speak and understand the Hausa language.
• Secondly, buy some plots of land to build an hostel for both the teachers and students.
• provide food for them as regularly as possible.
• disengage their mind from crime
• lastly, provide teaching aids to enable an effective schooling.

Finally, Almajiri's are human beings who have rights like any other Nigerian child as well as other children all over the world. If we give them our support through education we'll have a better society. Join our workforce to help reduce or cobb the insecurity menace in Nigeria.
