Encouraging the Less Privileged Children through Homeschool

Of the 262 million children out of school children in the world, a majority of them totalling 13.2 million are in Nigeria. These are children who either never enrolled or did not complete primary school education. According to the Demographic Health Survey (DHS) jointly conducted by the United Nations International Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in collaboration with agencies of the Nigerian government in 2015, the number increased from 10.5 million to its current figure as a result of various insecurity challenges in the country.Source As a family we have a goal of helping children on the street who doesn't have sponsors to take them to school or give them proper foundation of nursery and primary education. Greetings from @salvadornkpara

How it Started
I've thought in primary for about 9 years in the past and also engaged in Sunday school classes in my church as a children worker. It's been my dream to build a school for the less privileged ones in the society starting from my locality. This dream was arranged in phases. The phase 1 started 3 years ago when I gathered some children who I discovered on the street that they're not attending any school due to lack of money to register them in a private school. We started with 3 pupils. It's a bit difficult due to the fact that these children didn't have any prior knowledge of education. Two out of the 3 weren't able to understand simple English language. So we started by teaching the basics of English language.
In 2019, they increased to 10 and we saw progress in the previous 3 pupils. It's a very difficult process but we're consoled by our passion to help the less privileged children on the street. By December2019, the Covid-19 Pandemic set in, but in Nigeria, we're still moving on until February when Nigeria recorded her first Covid-19 case in Lagos, Nigeria. With the spread of covid-19 to other parts of Nigeria and the increase in the cases of covid-19, the federal government of Nigeria asked all schools to shot down in March. After that several embargoes were placed on movement to curtail the spread of the virus.
The arrival of covid-19 in Nigeria destroyed our plans. During the lockdown, we decided to gather children within our area to teach them. This was because of the noise pollution they created on a daily basis. We helped their parents to keep them out for 3 hours daily. To be admitted into our homeschool, you must come with a face mask, we had some hand sanitizers donated by our neighbors. At the peak of the covid-19 pandemic last year, we couldn't afford to pay teachers who were also helping out. Most of them left the school. It was just myself and my two younger sisters. Thou we overcame that period.

Our Challenges
Since it's a free school program, the population is increasing and lack of support from private individuals, we're losing our teachers. No grant from the Nigerian government or from other NGOs. Keeping these children requires so much finance and patience.

Finally, we're glad to let you know that we've about 30 pupils. This is our share of helping humanity succeed and reduce crime that's associated with illiteracy. If we can literate the world, it could only come through educating the mind.
