Newzealand vs Namibia: 36th Match 《☆☆》 ICC T20 World Cup 2021

The 36th match of the ICC T20 World Cup was played between Newzealand vs Namibia yesterday at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah. Newzealand beat Namibia by 52 runs and hold their 2nd position on the points table.

Namibia won the toss and invited Newzealand to bat first. Newzealand have lost their top orders early and lost total 4 wickets just for scoring 87 runs. Kane Williamson scored 28 runs in 25 balls including 2 fours and a six. Martin Guptill scored 18 runs, Daryl Mitchell 19 runs and Devon Conway 17 runs. Glenn Phillips and Jimmu Neesham made 76 runs partnership and both remained unbeaten. Glenn Phillips scored 39 runs in 21 balls including 1 four and 3 sixes. Jimmy Neesham scored 35 runs in 23 balls including 1 four and 2 sixes. Newzealand scored total 163 runs by 4 wickets. Namibian bowlers Bernard Scholtz, David Wiese, Gerhard Erasmus each took one wicket.


In reply Stephan Baard and Michael van Lingen made 47 runs partnership. Michael van Lingen scored 25 runs in 25 balls including 2 fours and a six. Stephan Baard scored 21 runs in 22 balls including 2 fours. But after breaking their opening partnership a big collapse has happened in Namibian family. One by one came and gone without a creditable innings. Finally Namibia scored 111 runs by 7 wickets.


Kiwi bowlers had a great performance. Tim Southee picked up 2 wickets for 15 runs in 4 overs. Trent Boult also picked up 2 wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs. Mitchell Santner, James Neesham and Ish Sodhi each took one wicket. James Neesham was player of the match for his all round performance.
