Aspiraciones de Cuba en el Mundial de Voleibol (es/en)

Saludos a toda la comunidad de Full Deportes, tras el "homenaje" hecho a la selección de Venezuela de fútbol en mi último post en el feed de la comunidad, hoy me adentro en un acontecimiento que tendrá lugar a partir de este sábado en Filipinas. El equipo masculino de la disciplina buscará mejorar su actuación del último mundial y llegar al menos a los cuartos de final.

La base del equipo, dirigidos nuevamente por Jesús Cruz, tras el séptimo lugar en la recién concluida Liga de Naciones, buscarán colarse nuevamente entre los 8 mejores de un torneo. Esta vez la tarea no será nada fácil, ya que todos conocemos la inestabilidad de nuestros voleibolistas.

Los nuestros se encuentran ubicados en el grupo D del torneo con sede en Pasay City, y rivalizaran frente al siempre difícil elenco de Estados Unidos, que esta vez debe traer a su constelación de estrellas. Igualmente serán rivales net por medio de Portugal y Colombia, este último en una revancha tras el fracaso en 2018.

No será nada fácil, ningún evento lo es y se ha demostrado a lo largo de los años. Esta generación llevan juntos desde 2016, y con las incorporaciones recientes de Robertlandy Simon, David Fiel y Maikel Sánchez, ya va siendo hora de que den el salto definitivo en un torneo internacional.

El último gran resultado de Cuba en un Mundial de Voleibol masculino fue en 2011 en donde fuimos subcampeones, cediendo en la final frente a Polonia. Lo curioso es que en esa plantilla de nuestro país, estaba un joven de 16 años, Wilfredo León, que hoy es libra por libra el mejor voleibolista del mundo, y defiende los colores de Polonia.

Personalmente les prometo a toda la comunidad y a los que me leen, que le daré cobertura al accionar del equipo nacional de Cuba en este mundial, así que esperen siempre mi entrega respecto a este maravilloso torneo.

Considero que Cuba tiene fibra para avanzar lejos en este Mundial. Solo les falta creerselo y poner los pies sobre la tierra, dejándose la vida en cada recibo, saque y ataque. Tengo fe en que llegaremos a instancias superiores finalmente en este Mundial.

Cuba's Aspirations in the Volleyball World Championship: An Analysis

Greetings to the entire Full Deportes community! After the "tribute" paid to the Venezuelan football team in my last post, today I delve into an event that will take place starting this Saturday in the Philippines. The men's volleyball team will seek to improve their performance from the last World Championship and aim to reach at least the quarter-finals.

The core of the team, once again led by Jesús Cruz, is coming off a seventh-place finish in the recently concluded Nations League and hopes to break back into the top eight of the tournament. This time, the task will not be easy, as we all know the instability of our volleyball players. They are placed in Group D of the tournament held in Pasay City, where they will compete against the always tough United States team, which is expected to bring its constellation of stars. They will also face Portugal and Colombia, the latter being a rematch after the failure in 2018.

It won't be easy; no event ever is, and this has been demonstrated over the years. This generation has been together since 2016, and with the recent additions of Robertlandy Simon, David Fiel, and Maikel Sánchez, it is high time they made a definitive leap in an international tournament. Cuba's last significant result in a men's Volleyball World Championship was in 2011 when we were runners-up, losing in the final to Poland. Interestingly, that team featured a young 16-year-old Wilfredo León, who is now considered the best volleyball player in the world and represents Poland.

Personally, I promise the entire community and my readers that I will provide coverage of the Cuban national team's performance in this World Championship, so expect my commitment regarding this wonderful tournament. I believe that Cuba has what it takes to advance far in this World Championship. They just need to believe in themselves and stay grounded, giving their all in every reception, serve, and attack. I have faith that we will finally reach higher stages in this World Championship.
