Concurso TBT una foto una historia / Los extraño

Esta es mi participación en el concurso Concurso TBT una foto una historia un día de esos jueves 16 de julio. Están invitados a compartir ese recuerdo fotográfico los días jueves en la comunidad Topfamily y contarnos su historia. Los esperamos.

Ya crecieron estos pequeños y solo dos quedaron en la casa y en la empresa. Se convirtieron en cuidadores de nuestros espacios. Y los extraño mucho a pesar de que mi hija tiene una gran mascota en España.

Todavía malta la que tenemos en nuestra casa toca mi puerta de madrugada cuando esta asustada por los truenos y se mete en mi closet, ella sabe que allí esta a salvo, se siente protegida de cualquier peligro, aunque tiembla mucho. Eso es lo que me ha contado mi hijo que hace ahora que no estoy por Venezuela y la verdad es que extraño a mis acompañantes. Aunque es la mascota de mi hija y siempre esta pegado a él, cuando necesita protección acude a mi.

De esa imagen distan casi unos cinco años ya, apenas saliendo del Covid la humanidad, todavía por precaución utilizaba el tapabocas en casi todos lados, también es que soy alérgica al polvo y aunque no me hice pruebas seguramente el pelo de perro también es irritante. Pero yo me tomo mis remedios que me indico mi doctora y listo.

These little ones have grown up now, and only two remain at home and at the business. They have become the guardians of our space. I miss them dearly, even though my daughter has a wonderful pet of her own in Spain.

The dog we still have at home—Malta—will knock on my door in the middle of the night when she’s scared of the thunder and crawl into my closet; she knows she’s safe there and feels protected from any danger, even though she trembles a lot. That’s what my son tells me she does now that I’m away from Venezuela, and the truth is, I really miss my companions. Although she is my daughter's pet and is always attached to him, she comes to me when she needs protection.

That photo was taken nearly five years ago, just as humanity was emerging from the COVID era. I was still wearing a face mask almost everywhere as a precaution; plus, I’m allergic to dust, and—even though I never got tested—dog fur is likely an irritant too. But I just take the medication my doctor prescribed, and I’m all set.

Como siempre están todos invitados a participar en traer ese recuerdo fotográfico y contarnos su historia. A mi me encanta esta actividad, me hace feliz contar historias, sentimientos de momentos vividos. Por favor sigan las reglas que les deje en el enlace del concurso para que no se pierdan la suerte de la recompensa. Comprendan que somos una comunidad pequeña y el profesor @lanzjoseg aporta en forma constante el premio sin patrocinantes. A mi me encanta poder brindarles apoyo y acompañarlos a ratos.

La verdad es que la vida continua y eso siempre sucede a pesar de los cambios. Hay un nuevo acompañante que llena mis días y come naranjas a mi lado, para fortalecer el sistema de defensas. Esta fotografía se convertirá con los años en otro recuerdo fotográfico de este 2026, un año muy fuerte para mi Venezuela, llena de dificultades y mucho dolor a superar. Yo no dejo de pedir por mis venezolanos por esa fuerza que tienen para salir adelante.

The truth is that life goes on, regardless of the changes we face. There is a new companion filling my days now—someone who eats oranges right beside me to help boost our immune systems. Over the years, this photograph will become another memory from 2026—a very tough year for my Venezuela, filled with hardships and deep pain to overcome. I never stop praying for my fellow Venezuelans and for the strength they possess to keep moving forward.
