School diaries: truffles!

The morning cycle went on a trip today. The kids were allowed to play in the schoolyard all day, they had football games and other fun activities and everybody enjoyed a good time in the sun. The weather was really warm, so no one had to worry about bringing an extra jacket.

Since my kids in the afternoon cycle had no homework to do, I decided to treat them to something sweet so we made truffles!!

I had already let them know that we wouldn't have a normal class today, since it was a trip day, so I brought some ingredients and necessary utensils from home and let my little devils students feel like Ratatouille for a while!

In this very pretty image you can see a can of sweetened condensed milk over two packets of crumbled biscuits, along with a mixture of melted margarine (200gr) and chocolate (another 200gr) - luckily, our school has a microwave oven which came in really really handy today!

Once I prepared the mixture (which I did myself because I didn't want all these little hands get mixed up with the food and I also wanted to make sure no little one would get burnt by the hot melted chocolate and margarine), I shared it with the kids making sure I had kept enough to make some truffles for the rest of the teachers to have tomorrow morning.

With hands washed, the children started rolling their truffles...

and dipping them into the sprinkle bowls!

A few minutes in the freezer and we were ready to taste the fruit of our labor!

Just so you know, they were SUPER DELICIOUS!!

I'm not salivating, you are!!!
